Best WLM Reviews

Came down to Louisville for my brother's birthday, and since we're self-proclaimed pizza aficionados, we chose to try this establishment after watching a more than convincing vid from a Louisville Youtuber on their deep dish pizza. It was pretty busy for an early Sunday afternoon and bustling with families. The decor is 1970s to a tee with lots of dark brown accents, but didn't appear to be "run-down" or "smelly" as other reviews indicated. We chose their deep dish pizza or how they refer to it as "pie" baked in a cast iron frying pan. It takes about an hour to cook so we ordered ahead and we forgot until we arrived that it's cash-only. It was a unique tasting pizza unlike any deep dish I've had before. I liked the mixing of all of the flavors from bite one, although the combination of veggies watered things down quite a bit. It didn't come pre-sliced which was disappointing as I'm not much of a pie cutter, and it made a kind of a mess as the crust is very thick and dense. Don't expect a buttery and flaky crust as it requires such a dough consistency to bake and hold everything together in the first place. I personally wasn't a fan of the crust, although my brother was. I would've preferred it softer so it could be easier to cut and have a mouthful of both the pizza contests and crust at the same time. I ended up scooping the contents from the pizza and leaving the crust alone. I would've liked to have tried their thin-crust as well, but was way too full. Maybe next time if we're ever down in Louisville again.
This place is legendary in south Louisville. They are a little worse for the wear inside, and past due for a refresh. They do serve a good pizza, the crust has a nice crunch to it and the sauce has plenty of flavor. They're price points are good- be aware it is a Cash Only establishment. The staff provided decent service and I really appreciate they're beer selection, both bottles and on tap.
1st visit, been wanting to try for a while. Will not be going back. Customers had to clean their own tables, and the bar counter was full of dirty dishes. The place was full, but the wait for 1 pizza was incredibly long. Warmed up leftovers today to find a hair baked into the crust of the pizza, needless to say, the rest went in the trash. The guy ordering in front of me asked for a side of olives. The guy working the register went and grabbed a hand full with his bare hands after handling everyone's cash. Bad first impression. No thanks!
You can’t get much more blue collar Kentucky than this place, or whitetrash. There’s nothing fancy about this place and sanitationwise it scarcely seems edible, but the pizza is good and the crust great. Don’t forget to bring cash
The pizza is good, different than the most
others.Good change of pace.The restaurant
could use a makeover as of about 15 years
ago, kind of beat up and musty smelling.
The service was good but not friendly
Some of them seemed not to enjoy their
jobs mu h
Long wait, but worth it. Pizza was delicious, I personally would have liked a little more sauce, but I didn't eat the crust. Cash only so make sure you have some!
Been a favorite of mine since I was ate last ten years old. Absolutely awesome pizza. You can get mainly thin but they offer one awesome deep dish as well. Catch the games on and have a beer
I love the old atmosphere. But the pizza was so burnt and hurt my teeth so bad eating it. I felt bad my family paying for it. One waitress was kind the other just gave looks. Won't be back.
