We stopped by after church while in town visiting family. Loved everything. My wife had the catfish, greens, and sweet potatoes while I had the smoothed pork chops with mashed potatoes and cabbage greens. Everything was well seasoned but not overly seasoned, and I still don't understand how they got the cabbage so flavorful without adding meat. We will be back the next time we are in town.
So glad we found this place! I had the Sunday ham. Soooo good. Hubs had the smothered pork chop and ended up ordering another one to go. The sides were just okay, nothing really stood out. The jalapeño cornbread was delicious. We can't wait to be back in the area and stop in again.
Fast service, hot & fresh food with professionalism and courtesy. Buffet, large burritos, cheese dip, steak, tender grilled pork chops, with great sides. An experience you will never forget that's reasonably priced. We paid for four people and had food leftover for the next day.
I really enjoyed this place it was a full day with plenty to eat. They had several dishes to choose from. The waitress serve in and out. They will sit you at a table or assist you to your vehicle. Its like the high school cafeteria set up. Everyone greets you as you come in. If you are close by 65th street this is a good spot to eat.
Food is so good it's hard to decide what to order. I had pot roast with sweet potatoes and jalapeno cornbread it was great. I also had greens and they were the best ever. What a team! That's what makes it work. Keep it up!!! I hope to be back soon but I'm 2 hours away
This place is legitimately the best southern food I've ever eaten. My best friend and I broke down nearby, and we came over to grab some food, not expecting much. We left an hour later after stuffing ourselves more full of steak, greens, corn bread, sweet tea, coffee, and pie than we thought possible... amazing food, amazing southern hospitality, and I would honestly make a trip back just to eat at this place again.
Great lunch spot! Yes it's a blue collar kind of place and the staff was very friendly. Jalapeño cornbread was fantastic as were the greens! And baked salmon! And pecan pie! Not super cheap but you get your money's worth.
You have GOT to stop by here. Family owned restaurant where all members are active and proud of the service they offer. Food offerings change everyday. Authentic Southern Hospitality at its finest.
