Me and my family stopped and stayed the night at the Bangor Grande Hotel that this restaurant is attached to and decided to have supper here. We came to eat at 7:30 in the afternoon and basically had the entire dining room to ourselves, though there were several people at tables and the bar which are located in the restaurants lounge. I've been told the hotel and restaurant have recently undergone renovations, so that could explain the lack of customers. The service was very polite if a bit quiet. I ordered the Mac 'n' cheese whereas my other family member ordered the Classic Burger, a Strawberry Pecan Salad with chicken, and the Broiled Haddock with small red potatoes and a side salad. Portions were great and the taste of the food was excellent as well. Definitely would recommend for dinner, though I believe they also serve breakfast and brunch.
Had a great experience the first time I came here, amazing spinach dip in a bread bowl with toasted bread and even better chicken tenders and fries! Every other time I have it has been an unpleasant experience, they have changed everything I liked about my past meal. Now have their amazing dip in a regular bowl with chips on the side, and changed the tenders with overly seasoned fries. My spouse has also had under cooked or unseasoned meals there when accompanying me. Also have tried the breakfast which seemed over priced for the quality. We have also had an issue with staff not greeting us for 10-15 minutes when entering. Overall disappointment and wishing it was back to how it was when I first went.
Was looking for a new brunch spot that served bloodies and mimosas. Stopped in about 10am. We were seated but didn’t see anyone for awhile so finally the host came to ask us for drinks. We did a mimosa flight and a bloody. We then waited about 20 mins for drinks as two other servers came by to talk about the mimosas as apparently no one there knew what the flights were. We could even hear them talking that no one knew where the serving items were for the flights. Hey, we’re all learning, right? Though your menu does say “ask about our mimosa flights!”
The bloody was awful. It tasted like water that someone poured a shot of V8 into. I could barely drink it. Mimosas were good and quite strong.
After a long wait we got our food. Home fries were overdone but had great seasoning. Everything else was about average for diner food.
Overall it was just a weird feeling. One server was obviously trying very hard but it seemed like no one knew what was going on or what items could be ordered. Kudos to you, red headed server, but we won’t be back.
First time in my life I got medium rare meat in beef burger . It was ????????. And server speaking so quiet , I can't understand the words , Why trying to speak quiet in the Bar ??? Awful dinner and wasted money .
Ordered steak tips med rare and they were well done, certainly not steak tips just chunks of steak cut up to look like tips. Didn't eat the steak and nobody apologized or offered a solution. Just ignored the fact I wasn't happy with the meal. Bartender made good drinks. Food is not good.
Went for breakfast - brunch. Very reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. Good general selection of breakfast items.
What a great place! I didn’t even know it was tucked in with the hotel but it’s worth a visit. If you pick the right night, there is live music. The menu is varied and spans from spinach artichoke dip to cajun chicken pasta. I have tried several items i would totally recommend! The cajun pasta is a winner, as is the ban jam burger, steak tips YUM! A wonderful lemon mousse dessert was to die for! Their lemonade and Titos is a great treat after a long day!
I went to Blue Sky Lounge the other night and had Kayla as my bartender. She is AWESOME!! She is funny and very personable. The bacon burger and scampi is out of this world. Keep up the good service!!
