Best WLM Reviews
With Chang An now closed I need a new Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, Blue Fuji won’t be it.
We went in for Chinese food but they also serve sushi and there was a strong odor of fish when we walked in.
We ordered mai tais which were pretty bad, bad enough that I didn’t get a second drink. To eat we went with basics general gao chicken, beef teriyaki, and egg rolls.
The egg rolls were the best of the order. Very large and nicely stuffed with a thin crisp shell. I would get them again. The beef teriyaki on the other hand was chewy with burnt parts. I prefer it served with spicy mustard but this came with no sauce.
The orange chicken was average. The chicken was white meat and tender and the sauce had a nice spice. It came with limp broccoli.
The service was fine but purely functional. There dining room was dead on a Friday night. Most of the time we were the only table, I think it maxed out at three. Definitely not a vibe.
Bottom line: avoid the mai tai and the beef teriyaki. Other food is decent but if you are going to get it, get it to go. We will continue to search for a new regular Chinese restaurant.
Blue Fuji is a must if you enjoy excellently crafted and amazingly fresh sushi, and/or wildly authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food for a surprisingly fair pricing. After only dining in twice, the staff made us to feel like family and elevated an already delightful experience into an unforgettable dining adventure, and that has carried through to our now tenth visit. Don’t snooze on this place before everyone else realizes how great it is!
Why would this place close down, be renamed Jia and still use the old name on the receipt ledger? You know what is more confusing? They used salad instead of sushi/seaweed to wrap my sushi orders of April 4.
WHO DOES THAT? Very little fish and lots of toppings and without the seaweed wrap they all fell apart. The taste was good, but it hindered my Japanese sushi experience when I was forced to pick up the crumbs with a fork.
We also ordered beef and mushroom with the basil fried rice. Pretty basic yet yummy.
JIA or Blue Fuji, whatever it is called should remove the Japanese section from the menu and stick to what it does best. With inflation, portions getting smaller, we don't want to be dissapointed paying more as we help our Bedford restaurants to survive.
Definitely not going back until I see improved posts.
Food is really good. Staff was very friendly. Decor is slightly dated, but not an issue. Menu has lots of options. We hot the Mongolian chicken, lo mein, and pink Lady. All was really good. Service was fast, not busy at all on Friday night.
The food was great but the service and atmosphere is seriously lacking. We went on Fridays nights at dinner time twice and they clearly are doing to much takeout business to care about their dinner in guests. I won't return for dine in unless it's to try the lunch specials.
This is the only restaurant I go 2 2 eat in. I ordered the same thing every time. Sashimi Deluxe platter and carafe of House saki at room temperature. I go there once a month to celebrate.I'm still around. I am seventy three.
Decent food for the price. Portions aren’t that big but with inflation and everything it’s still ok. Flavor wise the chicken wings were good and so was the Kung Pao chicken. Pretty much standard of the mill Chinese fast food that hits the spot when needed.
I always respect service workers. I understand it is a hard and thankless job. This said, the service here is horrible. The person at front acted as though I was a nuisance. So iwaited on the side for 15 minutes till he made time for me. When he did. He realized my food had been sitting on the counter the whole time. I thought maybe the food would make up for it. This is what their shrip looks like. A shrimp cut in half and with more breading than a subways sandwich.
