This is as authentic as you will get. We loved that there were many locals eating in there, speaking Jamaican. This is what I would describe as a whole in a wall; the food makes up for the lack of ambiance. The portions were very generous and both the oxtail and goat curry were delicious and tasted freshly made. They also have Jamaican drinks and chocolate bars. An older gentleman did come and ask how the food was. The reason for the 4 star and not 5 is that the guy that actually served our food was a bit unfriendly and impatient, but this is by no means a reason not to come. Totally worth trying.
I'm really surprised that the food I got was so disappointing. I had high expectations. I ordered the large oxtail plate and several things weren't right. First, the rice was undercooked. It was like almost hard little pellets. I'm feeling like someone was in a rush in the kitchen today. Also I don't know what is going on with your plantains but they were extremely dried out, weren't sweet at all and seemed to actually be very old. The Mac and cheese was just alright. And for the oxtail it was just ok. Wasn't anything really great. I feel like for $19 and delivery fees and tip this should have been a WHOLE LOT better. I don't see myself going back to try anything else. I saw the reviews and I decided to be optimistic but this was a big let down because I know you must take pride in your food. I don't what happened today. Maybe the cook needs a vacation. Sorry.
Everything excellent the guy was normal, not Rude or crazy or have attitudes unlike the others his fair always smiling
I tried this on a recommendation from a friend and it was fantastic. I had never tried Jamaican food before and I am now addicted. You definitely get your moneys worth with their huge portions. I tried the curry chicken with rice and mac and cheese. The rice was out of this world. I'll definitely be back to try other items.
First I was skeptical, because I thought that it was not going to be good, but they fooled me. The food was delicious. I had the ox tails and the person with me had the brown stew chicken. It was so good the lady behind the register she was so nice and patient. Thank you. I will definitely be back again. Please go and visit. They have lots on the menu. Great place.
Two days ago I went to buy jerk chicken ,rice, plantain and Rasta pasta. Got there young man behind the counter was rude I didn’t pay it no mind because I figured he’s young probably had a rough day. But I ordered my food when I got to my car I noticed the jerk chicken was cold I mean cold cold . SMH only my rice was fresh this never happened to me before. When the lady is there everything goes perfect ion know what happened I don’t think the youngster should be behind the counter. I also have a receipt to prove it. I can’t believe they gave me cold chicken like it was made day before not fresh. I will never go to this place ever again
Excellent fried chicken and "patties." My Trinidadian Pal loved the goat soup. The patties have a light, fluffy jacket and plenty of filling. We had the beef and vegetarian and they were both delicious. Monique provided fantastic service and beams a beautiful smile. I will return soon to check out the rest of the menu.
