Best WLM Reviews

Played 5/25/24. Greens were great. Cup placement challenging. Undulating fairways in pretty decent condition. I heard this track was in a bad way. In my opinion it’s very good for the price. Menu and bar area is very good. The people were 5 stars + and that’s what will keep me coming back. And the views were amazing.
If you are like me, you are reading all of these reviews, and you are likely questioning if it makes sense to go play this course. I definitely understand where your concern is coming from, however, I would challenge you to have an open mind so you can experience a great golf course that just needs a little TLC.
My family and I had the chance to play this course on 8/9/2023 and our expectations were definitely low. We arrived early and were the only car in the parking lot outside of the owner Rick, who literally is running everything and is one of the nicest, hospitable people I have ever dealt with.
We got the chance to start on their warmup par-3 hole prior to starting our round, which I had never experienced before anywhere else. We then played a very challenging course with lots of elevation change, blind shots over obstacles, and large challenging greens.
At the turn, we were able to get some fresh grub where once again, Rick was doing everything he could to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, while dealing with other golfers and the phone ringing. Definitely someone hustling and grinding, doing what he can do with what resources he has.
Overall, it was a great experience playing a course that you can tell, if it was in it's best condition, it could easily cost $100+ round. I would encourage you to empathize with what seems to be tough situation and give this course a chance. Keep proper expectations, go planning to have fun, and I would like to believe that you would still have a good time. I hope the pictures provided can give you and idea of what to expect.
The new owners have done an awesome job renovating the clubhouse and putting in the work on the course. A few pictures of the soft open for the Black Bear Bar and Grill.
The golf course is under new ownership this year. New owners are doing a great job getting everything up to par to where it should be. Greens look great, we have not golfed the course but looks good from the restaurant. Husband and I went for dinner and the food was great! Staff and owner kept checking on us to make sure order was correct and if we had any issues or suggestions. We ended up taking the Brisket grilled cheese also home for my daughter. It smelled phenomenal all the way home. We tried a bite when we got home and wow was it delicious! Go give this place a try under the new ownership. You will not be disappointed. Photos are the truffle fries and Cub burger.
Golfed here last weekend, and had a chance to speak with the new owners. They have done an amazing job re doing the club house and bar area. Course was in great shape, and super fun to play. By far one of the nicest courses in the area. Hope to make it back up that way again this summer for another 18. Great work!
The new owners are doing a great job! The service was excellent. The course still needs a little care but I believe they will have it in top shape soon. New golf carts are arriving next week I heard the owner say. The food was very good and prices are Very reasonable. Give this place a try. You wont be disappointed. The attention given to you is outstanding!
I'm rating this a 5 but would rate it a 10 based on the course conditions last year. New ownership has improved this course tremendously! It's a must play for 2024!!
Friendly staff more than makes up for the few course issues. We played on Sunday over Memorial weekend and are going back again next year. It's going to be fun getting to know this course and watching it improve over the years. Thanks!
