Billy helped us out with a frame issue years ago, and did a great job. And, recently when it was time to have the hood on my old Volvo repainted, several of my co-workers recommended Billy. It turned out to take much more time and work than we expected due to two previous paint repair jobs (before I owned the car) that had not properly sanded and prepared the old paint... which explained the failure of the current layer of paint on the hood. Billy went above and beyond to get this hood painted and have it look perfect and be durable for years to come.
Probably the most transparent and honest and affordable collision expert I've ever met. Not to mention a great man. I have trusted Billy with my vehicle multiple times, and will continue to trust Billy with my vehicle.
I am never going to bring my business here anymore. They charged me soooo much extra $$$ for no reason. I had other shops quote me 900 to pull the frame, and they wanted to charge me $5500, lol. I was obviously not interested, I decided to take my truck elsewhere, so Billy decided to charge me an extra $240 for the overpriced quote and would not give the keys back. When the other shops would do that quote for free. What gets me upset is that He never told me beforehand that he would charge the extra $240, If I knew, I would not even bring the truck there. He seems nice until it comes to the money ???? he loves to overcharge and not let you know until too late.
Edit, I got my truck fixed at different shop for $600, and It's perfect, they even pulled an aluminum part out that the Bill said he will not touch. "Don't be afraid to say no and shop around" He tries to lock you in with sweet talking or in my case charging you with a $240 quote.
This guy is a joke. And not in the funny way even though he tries. He was probably good at some point but now Billy is a scam! He says he is the cheapest in town. Anyway what I’m trying to get at he seems nice but when you hand over the keys and at it comes to pay don’t be surprised when you are 2k over budget!
Definitely a shady business. Lure you in using faith as a stand point. Say they wont charge you and get you to believe in good faith and turn around and say you owe thousands. Do not conduct business with these people after what they did to my brother it’s definitely got chop shop vibes. Taking advantage of the unfortunate events people are going through to take peoples cars
The short answer: If you need a collision repair, save yourself time and have Billy take care of it.
The longer answer: My 2002 Accord was rear-ended a few months ago and insurance totaled it. The car was drivable, but the trunk, quarter panel, and bumper were damaged, and the frame needed pulled. The first shop wanted over $5000, but were not easy to work with when I mentioned having used parts. Another was fine with the parts, which brought the quote down to $3000, and when I decided not to have it painted or fix the quarter panel, that came down to about $1500.
By this point, I'd been to several shops. Most wouldn't do a partial repair (a good indication of this is if you walk in and they have you fill out an application). I showed up to one and found out you had to make an appointment. Eventually, one of the shops recommended talking to Billy. It was a noticeably different environment, more relaxed, casual. You walk in and Tammy, Billy's wife, is either working in the office or the adjacent quilting room. You tell her what you need and she'll have you go back and see Billy in the shop.
In terms of the estimates, the biggest difference was not what everyone charged, but what they said needed to be repaired. The ones who would not do a partial, said to just scrap it and get a new car. Of those that would, there were different opinions. The rates and parts were identical in cost, the times for each job varied slightly but not enough to matter, so it came down to what each shop wanted to repair. One even said that the frame would rip if it were pulled (creating an expensive repair) and that anyone who said different would just slam you with the cost once the car was in the shop. It was pretty nerve-racking trying to sort all of it out.
Ultimately, I chose Billy's because I felt the most comfortable with him. The estimate matched what I needed to have repaired, he was happy I found used parts, and I didn't feel pushed to repair anything unnecessary.
With anything, it helps to have a second opinion. If you want to spend the time going around to different shops, go for it. It helped me make a better decision, but in the end, that decision was Billy's, and if I ever need another repair, that's the only place I'm going.
My wife was involved in an accident where the vehicle in front on her lost a wheel off its trailer and the wheel ran down the entire driver side of the vehicle leaving dents and scratches all along its path. Billy worked quickly with our insurance company to get her car rapaired and back on the road. The driver side of the car looks practically brand new and your never know that it had been hit. Billy is upfront and fair about his pricing and does great work in a timely manner.
My experience at Billy's Frame and Collision harkened back to the good old days when craftsmen took pride in their work and actually wanted to show you what they could do for you. I have an older, late '80s vehicle which by now can be called a classic car, on which I crunched in the rear while in my own driveway. I didn't expect to get it back to anywhere near the original shape without an impractical, highly expensive repair job. While another nearby shop (which was NOT the one who steered me to Billy's), clearly didn't want to consider a non-insurance, non-high-margin small project, Billy impressed me with his confidence and can-do attitude. He actually WANTED to work on my older car and said it was like the kind that he learned on. I could not have been more impressed or pleased when I picked it up on schedule, and within the only budget I could justify. I highly recommend professionals Billy and Tammy Roberts at Billy's Frame & Collision.
