Meh. Had a rough first visit here. Service was incredibly slow, painfully so. And, trust me, I was in no hurry to get back to work. The gumbo was different than I am used to here along the Gulf Coast, not very “seafoody”. Cheeseburger was pretty good, though, really good in fact. Waitress was very nice but just had too much going on to keep up. Inside seating is tight. Parking can get hairy if there are enough people there. I think there is good potential here and I will definitely give them another try.
We came here from Tennessee. Our Fishman Dustin said, Come on down to Billy Jack's. We met his sister, both waitresses were so nice. I had the crabcake sandwich and french fries. My husband had the fish special triple tail, blackened with french fries. They were both, delicious. It was a nice southern restaurant, loved the hospitality!
Clean, casual place to grab some decent food. We’ve been twice,
Once at night when there was live music and once during lunch. The service was great..friendly and attentive. Food was a surprise..the grilled shrimp, fish basket, buffalo chicken wrap, fried jalapeños and pickles..all good! The path to the patio is a little weird, but otherwise a decent local place!
Excellent friendly and fast service. Looking forward to tasting ingredients more on the menu. I had the smoked chicken sandwich. Gently smoked chicken, not over powering. Fries are excellent.
Went there for the first time for lunch. We were already prepared to pay the additional 4% charge for using plastic which is becoming far too mainstream for the Baldwin County area.
Good was great, big plentiful portions. Fried items were fresh and not greasy. Hamburger buns were nice and soft.
Be prepared to get some sticker shock on the tab - asked for a side of queso, quoted $0.50, ended up being $1. Also asked for roumelade to go with a crab cake sandwich (which arrived completely undressed) and that was also $1 unbeknownst to us.
Service was friendly and attentive, although when a cup of ice water was accidentally spilled, the waitresses watched my husband clean it up and only offered to take the wet paper towels. He didn't mind cleaning up the mess, but getting stared at while doing it wasn't necessary.
Ist time there with our 8 person friend group. We all had something different, but all was good. I had the hamburger steak with fries, broccoli and gravy. Broccoli was actually cooked perfectly. My friend had fish tacos, pictures taken. 3rd pic is the burlap ceiling.
The food is good, one of the best places in Robertsdale. The prices they charge are different then what’s on the menu though. If they’re going to charge you more, they need to update the prices on the menu.
Edit: A homey atmosphere is about the best you should expect going here.
I've been back a few since I posted my original review and other than 1 or 2 select items on the menu everything else tastes uninspired and bland.
Also, prices on menu do not match to what they ring up to, so caution when ordering, especially when asking for any type of sauce.
