had never eaten here... ribs were unusual but delicious... chicken curry and baked beans were as good as any I've ever had... corn fritters, cabbage and red beans & rice were all good...
huge portions- was surprised my son finished it all... will not be back as often as we'd like cuz its pretty expensive - my son and I spent $60 - but it is fresh, very much like home cooked food, and the people making it are all really nice... service is slow cuz they cook to order...
Thr restaurant I ate at is called J&V Irie Jerk.
It's small, but the food is super flavorful and the portions HUGE.
I ordered three ribs and three chicken the photos say all. It was AMAZING. The staff answered all my questions regarding food allergy and potential cross-contamination issues.
The baked beans were Fantastic. I also enjoyed the cabbage side.
My co-workers and I all agreed we will definitely be returning.
Place was mid to be honest and that’s being nice. The light skin girl that works at the front is very nice and patient but the wait is crazy, however they made everything fresh so that’s a plus if you don’t mind waiting 30 mins. They gave a lot of food but it doesn’t give Jamaican or Jerk. Ribs were good though. Chicken was good but didn’t taste jerked. rice and peas,cabbage, and mac were not good to me. Meat pie was good and plantain was not available. I personally would not eat here again unless I just wanted ribs.
You will definitely feel robbed after leaving here with the overprice meals. $26 for curry chicken! Once I ordered food to go. The manager ate my food and told me that I would not be getting a refund because I did not pick it up sooner. Stole $20 from me. The food is not that good. It’s hit or miss sometimes you will get old mac & cheese. I ordered Curry chicken . It came shredded more like stew chicken soup. Flavors not Jamaican. They over did the tyme sticks all throughout the food. The waiter lied to me and told me it was white meat. But I clearly see chicken leg bones
This was a cool spot to grab a bite to eat..all the food had good flavor but the chicken was a bit dry. The hot sauce was a nice plus and added heat. The perfect kind of runny nose and watering eyes heat. This sauce is a side and you don't have to worry about all their food being too spicy.
What a find! I’ve smelled the cooker out back and finally stopped into this place. We enjoyed absolutely everything on the platter! The ribs are the best I’ve had outside of Kansas. The chicken-oh wow-there are no words because I have not had it this good. I will order hush puppies as a side dish of it own next time! Try this place out!
So, we ordered Curry Shrimp with Steamed Veggies, Rasta Pasta and Jerked Lobster. The curry was watered down. The Rasta Pasta was pretty good and the Jerk Lobster was just OK. I think maybe we were looking for spicy jerk sauce, instead it was mild. Overall the service and the atmosphere was great, they allowed us to sit outside which was definitely a plus. I wouldn't have a problem trying this place again, it wasn't horrible, just not what we're used to with spice in the curry and jerk sauces. One last thing $14.99 for 6 shrimp is robbery, but it's your establishment, not mine.
$50 waisted. Took over a hour & when paying cashier said no need to tip lol to top it off he was wearing flip flops with his pants sagging. I was also told I had to pay over the phone because it was a phone order but while waiting a customer who places a phone order payed in store. I ordered the fried jerk chicken it just taste grilled no seasoning, no sauce, & burned. Macaroni and cheese is made with nacho cheese taste more like hot macaroni salad not gooey like videos or pictures at all. Over cooked cabbage & bland. Will not be back I instantly wanted a refund. I was told because I payed with a card I couldn’t have a refund because they don’t know how to refund a card. If I’m not refunded I will report fraud on my card.
