Waited 30 mins for our food. When it came we immediately wished we hadn't chose this place to eat. Didn't get what i ordered. Was Cold. Old. If I wanted a Tyson frozen dinner I could have payed $5 and made it myself. We didn't eat, we just left.
The service was amazing. Food...... nope. The ribs... I threw the whole rack in the trash. Way under cooked. Like eating rubber off a tire. Slaw had next to no flavor bean's were not good either. The best parts of this place, the owner and his service the staff and the bread. Sad to say as this is basically the only BBQ joint in this beautiful small town. Seen it up for sale on a local reality site. Someone needs to scoop this place up and make some serious changes. Sorry, yet true even the locals I spoke with say the same.
Had the cheeseburger & fries, a simple staple of lunch but very well prepared and tasty. Wife had the pork steak sandwich and she thought it was one of the best she ever tasted. Service was excellent, we never had a drink go dry and they made certain everything was good and that we didn't need anything else.
Big D's B-B-Q is a local favorite spot that has a certain charm too it. What do I mean by that? For starters, it has a Middle American aesthetic that it's only found in a place like this. The food is authentic as it is good because it comes from genuine Mom and Pop shop that has been run for generations. They take pride in their work because they go out of the way to ensure good cuts of meat that you would find at an upscale place at good prices!
While the restaurant does not have a drive-thru, it doesn't need one because the dine-in experience is worth your time and it makes the place more homely instead of corporate. But if you're in a hurry, you can call ahead and have a take out plate as well.
I recommend ordering the daily specials for starters.
We absolutely do not recommend eating there, we have decided we will never go back there; due to poor customer service skills; they were out of everything on the dinners and sides; poor portion for the prices for just 2 dinners and our food was soggy and cold and my girlfriends chicken strips were over cooked so much she was having trouble bitting into them and she on got 4 small straps for almost $13.00 and both mine and her buttered toast was soggy and cold, and my sandwich only came with 1 piece of bread!
Recently I contracted with Big D’s to cater our DHS Class of 1972’s 50th Reunion. Russ Arnold, the owner, was very easy to work with throughout the process. The quality of the food was excellent, as well as hot, and they delivered it to us at Murray’s Event Venue in a timely manner. I highly recommend Big D’s for their food as well as catering! Thanks Russ!
I was very disappointed with our food we got there today Oct 1. We got pork steaks and they were very tuff had no taste I don't think they even put any seasoning on them. My orka was very tuff as well it was to big and was like stick in the orka to big and tuff.
We won't be back. Very disappointed.
The staff was nice and helpful. We ordered porksteak. It was not tender at all and hard to eat, not much taste. The sides were good. It probably is not a place we would try again. If we did we would get something other than pork steaks.
