First time visit. Ordered a large Pizza with a couple of toppings to go. Half meatball and half onion/pepper. When I picked up the box, it was unbelievably light. I had thought the gave me a medium sized pizza by mistake. NOPE! When they sliced the pizza, the ratio was 5 slices pepper/onion with 3 slices meatball. The toppings were diced so small you almost couldn’t distinguish the flavors. I also had a 25% off promo from AARP. The owner said in all his years he has never seen this. I showed him the the promo on the AARP site and he said it must be a fake website. Needless to say I did not get the discount and will probably never go back.
The current staff there is very small. They had one guy covering both the kitchen and the front end.
The food I had was great though. It's nice to not have to ask for an Italian sub to have oil and vinegar or provolone cheese. The sub was balanced with plenty of veggies and provolone cheese.
My sub was only ~$7.50 before taxes.
Their seating area is big, but very old.
They also have a bar which is well stocked, but only with the usual suspects: bud, Sam's, and the like. I think there were 7 different beers.
This is the second time I tried Big Als. Was told it was great and was disappointed. First time it wasn’t great but figured we’d try again. This second experience was terrible. Called for delivery was told 1 hour. After 90 minutes I called and they said it was out for delivery. After an hour 45 the food arrived cold and the pizza was folded. This place is a joke and I will never get their sub par food again. Do not recommend. Try lake street pizza or go into Oxford to p and d or Carlos or somewhere who takes customer service seriously and takes pride in making good food.
Great menu, and delicious combinations . I've never experienced a buffalo chicken and Mac and cheese pizza till now . It was ????
I eat here every week. I brought my granddaughter here twice recently and she also gives Big Al's a 5 star rating!
It's good pizza, been here several times and never been disappointed.
There Pizza is one of the best in the area. Not to mention the wide range of food on the menu.
You can't go wrong if ordering for first time.
Big Al's has terrible food. The pizza is overly greasy and the pizza crust is never cooked enough...even though I've requested the pizza well done. I've given them multiple chances with different menu items and they have failed miserably. A Caesar salad typically consists of romaine lettuce, shaved Parmesan cheese and croutons. The salad I received had brown lettuce and maybe 12 tiny croutons. It was pricey and very sad looking. I have ordered salads from neighboring pizza places and they at least put shaved Parmesan in their salad. Needless to say, I will not order from Big Al's ever again.
