We were pleasantly surprised at the spacious room we had in the Townsend House. The king sized bed was comfortable, and the room was remarkably quiet even though it was on the first floor, right near the entrance and right on the street. ||We were unpleasantly surprised the next morning, as we tried to have our promised "Continental breakfast". We walked down to the Delamater Inn, as the information sheet instructed, only to be told that there was a special conference and that the breakfast was being served at the Beekman Arms. No one had mentioned this the previous day when we checked in. Even more upsetting was what was being offered - cold grocery store bagels with no way to toast them, two flavors of overly sweetened yogurt, and coffee or tea. There were also a few delicious apples, clearly out of months of cold storage which tasted like vaguely flavored Styrofoam. (When will hotels and resorts figure out that no one likes those horrible apples!) Despite their apologies, this was inexcusable - how hard would it have been to run down the street to the bagel shop and buy some decent bagels or pastry? Or maybe to give us a voucher for Pete's a half block away? For the price we paid for the room, it was kind of a shock. ||Finally, there is apparently a decanter of sherry in each room, considered an "amenity". Our decanter contained about 1/2 inch of sherry - no seal, no guarantee of who or what had previously contaminated the bottle. A little stomach-turning.
When making my reservation I had called a number after searching for the hotel The person I spoke to was going to charge $120 more than the advertised cost of the room. I then called the hotel directly and spoke to Nansi. She was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She looked at the reservation and realized it was a mid week price and certainly didn’t charge us $120 extra in “hotel fees” Because of Nansi and our lovely stay at The Beekman Arms I will be sure to recommend it to friends and will definitely stay there for the next time. We’re in Rhinebeck.
Nansi Lent welcomed us almost daily with her brilliant smile at the front desk. We stayed for an extended time period as our home was in renovations and with a pet our options were limited. The Delamater Inn was beyond perfect for my mother who is in a wheelchair and has limited mobility. Imani, the manager made sure we were placed in rooms designed to meet all our needs as well as next to each other. The village offers lovely shops and events but the food at the Beekman Arms was our absolute favorite. To just come back after a long day and get cozy in a booth at the pub, having Chase welcome us and cocktails and menus, we felt right at home. Chase was so well versed on the history of the Inn.|I highly recommend the Delamater for a girls weekend, a romantic get away, or accommodations so close to the fairgrounds. We loved how walkable it was to Rain Spa and all the other attractions and amenities Rhinebeck has to offer.
Everything from the reception staff to the accommodations to the food was excellent. What a charming place full of history and character in the Hudson Valley! And affordable too! Whether you want to stay in the main Inn with the ghosts and memories of our founding fathers or in the surrounding inns (some with private fire place and modern installations), it’s a truly magical experience. Will definitely stay again!
Wonderful experience, we stayed for our 41 st anniversary Nanci at the front desk was super friendly and accommodating. The hotel had a true historic vibe with rich history. I would deffinetly stay again and recommend. The town of Rhinebeck felt like a step back in time, with lovely shops and eateries. Had a great time
Being local to the Hudson Valley, we have dined and entertained at the Beekman Arms. This year, due to some house construction, we were guests for 5 weeks. Imaini, the operations manager made us feel right at home especially when our departure date was delayed again and again. Each day was like the first. The all inclusive breakfast started our days out perfectly. Room services never waned and our meals in the Pub were always delicious. Nani’s Lent made sure we had all we needed and was especially kind. Chase, who often served our meals was a delight and also so knowledgeable about the historic Inn. It is without any hesitation that we highly recommend the Beekman Arms and Delamater Inn for either a weekend, a wedding or an extended stay. It will be sad to depart. The hospitality was offered across the board and no detail went unnoticed. |Sincerely, Adrienne and Mike Bautista
Stayed one night on 5/31 with 2 rooms booked. We had previously stayed here 3 times. Check in this time was a mess at best and the front desk attendant was in great need of customer service skills. Her demeanor was rude and not at all welcoming. Once the rooms got figured out (not what we originally were told we booked) there was no help in the way of a map to help us in finding our rooms as the property is expansive and we encountered several other guests who were lost as well. There also was no instructions given on where to go for the complimentary breakfast which was in a different local. As for the rooms, they are in dire need of repair and upgrades. Next stay will be in another hotel I am very sorry to say.
We had the best experience at the Beekman Arms! They were extremely accommodating to our dog that was staying with us and Nansi and Corrine offered fantastic service at the front desk and kitchen! We loved the tavern and the old world charm of the hotel.
