Dropped in to try the pizza out. It did not disappoint. Place was busy but it's also a small place. We were able to get an empty table and didn't wait to long for a menu. Reasonable time between ordering and getting our pizza. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Pizza was delicious. We also got an appetizer and 2 drinks. Spent $30 for 2 people and had leftovers. Was well worth the price!
The service was terrible. I looked at our food order for over 10 minutes after asking 2 different waitresses if it was read. The one was ro busy flirting with the guy at the end of the bar to look and the other was to busy trying to cover for the one who wasn't
Doing anything. I was charged for ranch and guacamole but never received it. I asked for it 2 different times but no one ever got back to me. We ordered the food at 5:30 and I received some of it at 7:20. It was just really frustrating, the food was cold when we got it. Aftrr paying 80$ plus tip...
To me, this place represents the essence of Mackay and warmth of the people who live in the valley.
Family friendly.
Food is awesome, recommend the Slough pizza.

Edit: I've only cried twice in my life. The first was when the Grandmother that raised me died unexpectedly. The other was when I left my to-go box of pizza on the table at Bear Bottom.
The sweetest little gal served us! We had to cancel room reservations last minute, but decided to have a bite to eat. The waitress gave us excellent service and was more than happy to help us out with the reservation. The food was excellent, kudos to the cook. We will definitely be back again when we pass through!
We stayed in the inn part of this resturant/inn combo, and it was nice. It was a good price for a cozy room that provided just what we needed. The rooms smelled clean and everything was tidy. They strive to be environmentally friendly as well, glass dishes and silverware so it can all be reused, it's good to see. The shower head is a little short if you're above 5' 9", which was fine for me but my 6" husband found his noodle bonked once or twice. This wasn't really a huge problem for us though, just a tidbit. We really enjoyed our stay, and how close within walking distance it is to resturants and nearby to the self tour mining tour. Very friendly owners and staff, and good place to rest your head.
This is a clean and more up to date place to stay in Mackay and we have stayed in most if them.
I would have given them more stars BUT in the middle of the night the heat quit and no one to call. Thank God for extra blankets we made it to morning.
This place rocks! Deep IPA selection. Burgers and pizza over the top. Server Kennedy is the strongest suit here!!
Well thought this would be a great weekend came for a family memorial. We had 2 rooms for the weekend and went in the first room seemed good looked clean didn't have a stench, walked into the Second room and had the most horrible moldy wet mildew smell in the room. Called and asked for them to check it out a woman and man came over as if there was no smell and what a burden we were to call and inform them of the stench coming from the room, the couple did not say anything and walked away. We had others come smell the room and they definitely smell what we were smelling but the coustmer is the burden!!!We went to the market paid over 10.00 for room spray that did not help the situation. Ordered food the food was good Ordered a salad and asked for a fork and the response we got was unbelievable the coustmer service was horrible and so were the rooms!!!!! Have never had such horrible coustmer service from the room to the restaurant!!!!
