Reliable, reasonable and good tasting Korean food. Menu items are pretty standard but would appeal to everyone’s taste. Similar to the outlet in the city. There is often a wait on weekends though there are so many Korean restaurants nearby. Which tells you about the popularity of this place. Would recommend their lunch and dinner combos.
Loved their tofu vegetable soup and their glass noodles. Also the food seems way lighter and easy on your stomach compared to some other Korean restaurants nearby
It was something new for me and I loved the vegetable soup with the combo but I wasn't thrilled about the bowl. I think there might have been strong rice vinegar in it for my own personal taste. I wouldn't mind trying it out again with others who know how to eat and combine the dishes!
Wow! What a service! Staffs are all so nice and polite. Very pleasant experience. Food was excellent except for mul nagmeon. It was just ok. Galbi was so tender and marinated just right. Their kimchi was so fresh and good. They also had cucumber kichi which was so crunch and delicious.
The food is always good. Love getting the combos. It was very busy on a Saturday lunch but was able to grab a table for 5 in 30 min. The staff is always helpful. Our waitress was very attentive in refilling our side dishes which was very nice. She also introduced us in eating the leftover crunchy rice with water which is a dessert in Korean culture. The ambiance is very family friendly. Many families eat here. There is a big parking lot that is shared with other stores so be ready to circle around because it does film up quickly.
Service was super good, best Soon Tofu in NYC/Fort Lee. The Banchan is phenomenal with the kimchi being my favourite because it is fresh and not fermented. They take extra care in making the tofu bowl super hot and when you get spicy it is hard to eat it because it is so hot! But so delicious. Took me over an hour to eat everything.
My family and I come here all the time and today we ordered raw marinated crab and soft tofu soup combo for take away. When we got home we were so upset at the crab they packed us. There was like 3 pieces body and the rest were broken legs… the body looked like it was half eaten.. what was I supposed to eat??? Just suck on the marinade?? I think I was more upset because when you eat there their food is so good and the service is amazing.. seriously 너무 너무 실망했어요 ????
Always reliable taste. Been to Wishire superstore in LA when arriving late. So happy when opened in NJ. Coming since the first year. Even during covid, great takeouts (although without 솥 caliente)... Amazing 맛집. So reliable. Hope no accidents with so many super heated carry.
Free appetizer fish. 반찬 콩자반, 젖갈, 겉절이 김치, ice cream scoop Korean style mashed potato, even broccoli all excellent.
Like combo with LA 갈비 or 고등어 preferred over 불고기 or 돼지불고기.
Love 곱창 순두부 with $1 extra although 섞어 (mixed) good enough.
Everyone in my family has different spicy levels, so option much appreciated.
Gave it a try for winter special 굴밥. Perhaps cooked ahead a time? (We arrived ealrier dinner hour to beat the crowd) Bit too much burnt 누룽지 in the bottom and not as moist. (Also look different from other reviewer's photo) Nonetheless, reminded of 솥밥집 in 인사동, 조금 with Ginko, oyster... (add 죽순? 버섯?)
Servers fluent in Korean impressive. Always amazed with busy vibe... especially how this restaurant excelled transforming 순두부 as true soul food Americana especially during chilly weather.
One suggestion. If customer wants extra tlraw egg, perhaps give them an option with extra $1 or so? I love double eggs for tofu.
BCD has become a brand name since its inception in the nineties. This restaurant has been incredibly consistent with taste and service. The taste hits the spot all the time.
I’ve been away from NJ/NJ for 7 weeks and I came back today to NJ exhausted after 17 hr driving. And the first stop? No doubt, it was BCD tofu. Comforting, tasty, affordable.. enough reasons to make visiting BCD a biweekly event.
My favorite is intestine BCD tofu soup, SPICY. It comes with complimentary stone bowl rice cooked to perfection every single time. Banchans are not their forte, but they are competent enough and pair extra well with BCD tofu soup & rice.
It is noteworthy that visitors from Korea, including celebrities, dine at BCD (in LA mostly) when they travel to US. It says a lot about this BCD brand!
