Since the Barber Shop by the by the Southside Gym doesn't have a presence on Google Maps, but belongs to what seems the same establishment, I am leaving this review here:
Very frosty reaction to walking into the shop, so that's already bad. Had to wait about 10min for a haircut, since several other people were being serviced, but that is normal. However, the lady cutting my could not have made it more apparent that she does not want to be there. Asks me in a snippy tone what I want and tells me I have to slouch down in the chair, because I am too tall, which made it uncomfortable to sit. She obviously tries to cut as quickly as she can to be done with it and drops a lot of my hair right in my face. Normally, it would at least have been properly brushed off, but not here. Lastly, she does not ask if I would like to have my eyebrows cut (which I definitely do not) and just proceeds to cut them quickly with the electric razor. Then, again without asking, she puts gel in my hair, which was also not desired.
When it was time to pay, she simply prints the bill and puts it on the counter, expecting that I would write down the amount I would tip. I have rarely received such bizarre service. Definitely do not recommend.
Unsure of her name, but a white lady with tattoos was rude and did not provide the best quality haircut. My interaction started with her scolding me because she did not like that I was standing when my number was called - she said I needed to remain seated until my name was called because she felt “rushed.” Adults can stand or sit as they please.
usually i get a decent cut with them but today. the lady sped thru my cut like it was a race and left my hair completely uneven. Do not get the lady with all the tattoos
Shouldn't have to recover after a haircut, neck is red and welted from his clippers scrapping my neck.
You may get a good cut depending on which barber you get but the hygiene is not up to standard. I have been may times because it is the most convenient with hours. Barbers do not clean clippers/trade out combs between clients and barely sweep up hair. They often over cut the skin on fades but I bring my own after shave for my boys now because they would breakout after each visit.
Seriously need to find a better way to manage the queue….so much confusion I got scolded because I “wasn’t there” when my number was called, even though they skipped three people that were sitting inside. I was standing in the middle of the barber shop while my number is on the screen waiting to be helped. I was then told to wait and someone will call my number. I then stood by the door and someone else with 85 and 84 said they were skipped so I waited for them. After they were taken I was standing there waiting to hear my number and it was completely skipped to 87. I was told that my number was called before and I didn’t come yet I was standing right there in the middle of the barber shop and heard nothing. Price of advice, don’t take your anger and whatever you may be going through out on others. Sit back and have some perspective. Didn’t even fade the left side of my head…..
Worst haircut I've had in years. I'm honestly contemplating shaving my head bald. Stylist completely disregarded what I said and I dont see anyway to fix this. Avoid like the plauge.
