Best WLM Reviews
Food was good, but overpriced for the portions we got. The pulled pork and pulled chicken were delicious. So was the green beans which were cooked in this amazing tomato sauce. SO GOOD! There is a sauce called Colonel Bacon which goes good with pulled chicken and fries! The desserts were huge, delicious and the best deal there! Recommend going.
Had the pulled pork and chicken 2 meat platter with macaroni salad and broccoli salad. It was all fantastic. Nice selection of different bbq sauces. I come out to this area 5-6 times a year for work and look forward to trying it again on my next visit in June.
BBQ is all prepared before service but this restaurant is very slow and line is backed of the door. One of the only places in town. Collards, pulled pork, and potato salad were good. Sweet tea was pretty good. Pork belly is salty and greasy. Roll was very good. Baked beans were weird because they had tomato products in them. Very strange after being raised on Texas BBQ. Cupcake was very dry and buttercream icing was very loose. I believe this restaurant would struggle if it was in a city with any competition.
What a fantastic barbecue experience. I ordered the two meet platter with pulled chicken and chopped brisket. The meat was gone before I even realized there were sauces on the table. They also offer a few varieties of homemade pickles which I had to sample. The sweet pickles hit the spot perfectly. If you enjoy good quality barbecue you must give it a try!
Traveling for work I always try the local smoked beef brisket. This place was highly recommended. Went for lunch, got the brisket with slaw, potato salad and the pumpkin seed roll. The brisket was dry. Slaw and potato salad were ok. The seed muffin was delicious.
What a find! While out exploring we stopped in for a bite- we lucked out with the BBQ porkapalooza! A great platter to try just a bit of everything! Never had pork belly before, it was good. Everything was. Had a chance to try the brisket and that was deemed the best. The platter was large enough to share. Everyone in our party was happily satisfied. Service was a bit confusing as there is a lot to take in as you order at the counter. Staff was very friendly, and service was fast. Definitely stop in if in the area.
We were excited to stop here for lunch based on the high reviews, however our experience was mediocre overall.
Pros - staff were really friendly and helpful, chicken bbq was good, the roll the sandwich came on was soft and sweet, sauces were good.
Cons - sides were terrible. Coleslaw appeared to just be cabbage and mayonnaise, fried green tomatoes were burnt, onion rings overly battered and soggy, brisket and pulled pork were bland.
Neutral - fries were coated & seasoned which I don’t like but know that many others do.
I’m hoping we just hit them on an off day, which everyone has from time to time.
It’s very good. Only thing is the prices are not great in my opinion. I got a Barbeque sandwich with hushpuppies and fries. I also got a cookie. The food was pretty good, the hushpuppies were a small portion only a few in there but probably some of the best hushpuppies I’ve ever had in my life (no joke). sandwich was pretty solid but nothing crazy, fries were good. Cookie was also good. I don’t like the 5$ upcharge to eat in person instead of to go or the fact combos don’t have drinks but you could argue that adds a unique feeling to the business. It’s made to go. It has its own southern style. I Would definitely recommend or go back!
