Best WLM Reviews
Closest to the river you will get. 10 sites about 50' from the river. Hookups are all legit for your camper or RV. it's totally kid and dog friendly but there isn't a playground. Its quiet and has amazing views. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are all about, maybe they like the RV campground nazism that you typically get. Just be respectful and you'll be treated with respect. I've stayed at the motel as well, it's okay, a bed and warm water. Internet works great all around the site. Owner is a pretty good dude that cares and works hard. It's about a 15-20 min drive to Salida.
This park is small and rustic. Owner is making improvements daily. Right on the river with a very good restaurant. The people are very friendly and accommodating. We stayed here in a 45 foot motorhome and had plenty of room. We will definitely be back but next time we'll stay longer.
This place is definitely NOT a KOA or RV resort but it has lots of character and feels authentic. Full hookups work fine and it has the best wi-fi I've ever experienced in my travels. Good thing too, since there's no Verizon connection available for data and the phone connection is spotty too. Right on the Arkansas River but not really near to anything. Good place to get away from it all. The shower/toilet facility is a trip.
We stayed Memorial Day weekend 2018.
Pros: Manager was polite and nice. Camping spot was on the Arkansas river.
Cons: The RV park was mostly occupied what appeared to be full time residents. Full time residents stored junk outside their campers, smoking pot and cigarettes on the regular, barking dogs kept unattended, and residents dog poop EVERYWHERE in our camp site - it was gross. No hot water at shower facilities. Residents and their guests partying into the early morning: laughing, loud talking, bumping stereos, driving in/out late - quiet hours started at 10:00 PM - the RV park must not hold people to that time.
We will not be back. If you want a quiet, hidden gem check out Pleasant Valley RV Park around the corner (within walking distance of Bandera's Bunkhouse).
Cons - Very unprofessional, no laundry, dirty bathrooms, a stagnant pond. KOA prices almost.
Cons - By the river and a nice road to walk the dogs. Views are nice there.
Twice I was told: "If you don't want to stay feel free to look up for other places"... In a July month and with a wildfire going on, with most campgrounds booked!"
Oh my gosh the resturant is the best. Cheryl is wonderful. I have loved every meal I ever ate there. Today was a breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. All was cooked perfectly as always. Coffee was hot and fresh. The resturant is always super clean and cheerful. I am trying to think if there is anything I could complain about. The answer is NOPE not a thing.
I stayed at possibly the most beautiful place on earth. The proprietor Rick went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed myself. Truly the quietest place on earth. Thanks for the great time.
Yes Arkansa river is great! Not the best place for familys! Cars race by all day! Most people are long term so really no place to stay. Even my boyfriend said it was trashy!!
