Best WLM Reviews

Absolutely phenomenal! I am SO happy we decided to travel the hour or so away from the French Quarter to experience their food. Great prices, friendly service. I don’t normally like the whole order up front and take your food to your table but it works very well for this place.
Support local!
Stopped into this restaurant following a visit to Laura Plantation and after reading some great reviews on Google.
Food:
Despite the many positive reviews I read on Google, the food was very much underwhelming.
I had the half shrimp Po'boy, Andouille sausage gumbo and onion rings. The shrimp Po'boy was unremarkable. Unfortunately, during my time in Louisiana and Po'boys at several eating establishments, the sandwich just didn't live up to my expectations. The gumbo was OK but was heavy on the salt. Finally, the onion rings were completely generic. To our server's credit, she did advise that they were not homemade and instead made from frozen. We wanted to try the gator bites but were informed they were sold out. All in all, the food was disappointing.
Service:
The service was great. You order and pay at the cash and then seat yourself and wait for your order to be called. The server / cashier was warm and welcoming.
Atmosphere:
This store and dining room are something else. I mean that in the very best way. The photos speak from themselves.
Summary:
While my food wasn't anything to write home about, I didn't much care because I will always support local. I enjoyed visiting this place, experiencing the quirkiness of the dining room and simply enjoying the small town charm. I'm open to the possibility that I just didn't order the best tasting things on the menu. I would give this place another try if ever in the area again.
I had 1/2 shrimp poorboy and cup of Gumbo. By far the best gumbo I have had since being in the area. Local reccomended this place said tastes like mom makes. Food was outstanding prices seemed a bit high.
Definitely a cultural experience for us Jersey natives! Went after doing a tour of nearby Laura Plantation on a Friday afternoon. We have a family of five and we ordered 3 lbs of boiled crawfish, gator bites, fried okra, boudin balls, and the kids catfish meal. All were excellent, fresh and served pretty quickly. Kids devoured the catfish and gator bites and we all partook in the crawfish. It’s definitely not fine dining, but we were there for a legit Cajun meal. Lots of fun alligator and fishing decor that livens up the place. Highly recommend if you want a hole place to enjoy authentic local cuisine.
This was my first time ever in Louisiana. I was recommended to visit this place. I LOVED IT! I had the Shrimp Po' Boy and fried gator. I loved this place so much I went back before my trip ended. This place is a must, do bare in mind your order has to be placed at the register. See for yourself! You won't be disappointed.
Delicious with great prices. Gator bites are really chewy but everything else is yummy.
The overstuffed shrimp poboy: great bread, okay shrimp, needs some sauce. Huge portion: one sandwich could feed two grown men. Gumbo had a nice flavor. Good service.
This is the real deal! If you’re looking for good food and atmosphere in a little Louisiana town, this is your spot! I had the Poboy and the bread was melt in your mouth, finally found out that they make it fresh there. Fried catfish and red beans were wonderful Everything fresh in the house.
