Best WLM Reviews

Great service. They always know me by name and stand behind the work they do. I started going to Autoworks because my coworker recommended them and they close to my job. I don't work there anymore but I make the longer trip because I trust them and they do a good job. It's is not easy to find honest mechanics. I highly recommend Autoworks. They also have some wonderful animals to keep you entertained while waiting????
Visiting with my family from out of state and had overheating issues. I originally called another shop, but the mechanic could not work on my car in a timely manner. I asked for a recommendation and he suggested Autoworks. I took my car to them and am glad I did. Dorothy and Tim were great to work with. They seemed to go the extra mile working on the car knowing that I needed to leave the next day. Would definitely use this shop regularly if I lived in the area.
This is my favorite auto repair shop I’ve ever had in 55 years. Tim and Dorothy are so welcoming and kind. You feel like family. They are upfront and honest about what needs to be done and their pricing is very fair. The work is done well and quickly. Just an absolute great experience every time.
I have been taking my ‘66 Mustang to Autoworks for the past 6 months for small electrical and mechanical repairs. This week they installed a new air conditioning kit, which replaced the entire original system. Carl, Tim and Dorothy are a real pleasure to work with and their knowledge of classic cars and ability to fix them is invaluable. I especially appreciate the care in which they handle my car given it has all new paint.
I have started taking my newer cars there and will continue to rely on them for all my automotive needs. I highly recommend them.
Mechanic "Carl" had my car 3 months and it was returned with more problems than when it was turned in. Turn signals worked in October and now they don't. He did work without authorization, changed the work I wanted done, did not provide an estimate against NC Law that came to more than $350. The work he did previously on a gas tank replacement he cited as a problem that caused water to get into the fuel system, causing rust and the carburetor needed to rebuilt 3 TIMES! When questioned about it he became angry and did not offer a refund yet much less and apology.
It is also note worthy that they contacted me one time over the 3 months, but after the first month any information I receeved was because I had to contact them.
Avoid at all cost.
Found Tim and company while passing through Dutch Square Industrial park one day and I’m glad I did. They have done excellent work on my vehicles and I highly recommend them. A good, honest group who won’t take you for a “ride” like other shops.
The most helpful and honest crew! Have taken my Jeep here multiple times and my Mobile Dog Grooming van for specialty work. I highly recommend!
At 138k, my engine was overhauled by autoworks. They also replaced the thermostat, replaced the spark plugs, replaced the pan gasket, and redid the timing.
At 140k, the thermostat had to be replaced. At around 143k, the oil pan started leaking AND I heard a terrible grinding and clicking noise, took it to a mechanic and found out that the bolt holding the timing chain idler sprocket had completely backed out and let the inner timing chain wear against the outer timing chain’s tensioner guide.
Now this means that within 5k miles, almost everything they did to my car failed. When i called them to ask if they could fix it the first time, they replied that it’s been more than 6 months and that I was out of luck. Once I had taken it to the mechanic to get it diagnosed, I called again with the specifics of the problem. I was told the same thing. I even offered to pay, and asked if there were a discount they could give me on it. They said I’d pay full parts and labor like everybody else.
A bolt backing out in the timing cover is NOT normal wear and tear, it’s negligence, and —in warranty or not— should have been covered 100% by simple virtue of integrity.
Now whether they bought sub-par parts or did sup-par work, they refused to stand by either. After I called them, I contacted the better business bureau to file a claim against them, and they have now ignored both attempts by the BBB to contact them.
I would love to see them stand by their work and then I could change this review to 5 stars, but it really feels like pulling teeth at this point.
***EDIT*** they completely ignored the better business bureau, and the engine seized less than a month after I posted this review originally. Less than 5k miles from their rebuild, and the engine was completely toast.
