Chuck took care of me and my 2013 Kia Sportage. His prices were ever so slightly higher than Dan's Auto Air, but Chuck's service experience is much better. He is able to look at the car that day and was able to get me up and running the next day. He also gives you a 1 year warranty for his work. And when you pick up the car, he shows you your old auto parts, which i thought was a nice "bonus" to his service.
Excellent place. I couldn’t be more happy with the experience I had. He was quick, thorough and had my 2017 Suburban back to me same day. I highly recommend this shop. We took it for AC problems, turned out to be the condenser coils, he had it completely fixed in a few hours. Well done, and thank you.
Dropped my car off with complaints of intermittent cooling. Received a call 45 minutes later explaining that I was low on radiator coolant and that when the engine overheats it shuts off the A/C. When I picked up car it was 'no charge' and he refused some cash I offered! Wow! Honest, competent and fast service!!!
Well, I just got back from Hughes. Boy am I glad I went! Chuck was going to have me leave the car, but when I asked if it would be ok if I hung out while I arranged for a ride home, he decided to check it then and there. 15 minutes later and a replaced faulty relay, and the AC is working great! He also complimented me on my taste in music (I had the 60's channel on satellite radio playing)!

As you read through the 95% overwhelmingly positive reviews here, you'll find just a handful stating anything contrary. These are merely a reflection of the occasional misunderstanding . . . given the man's utter refusal to participate in any nonsense or time-wasting.
He just wants to get you in, get you fixed, and get you on your way at a tremendous savings. He's proven that time and time again to his loyal and grateful customers.
Chuck is an expert in automotive AC repair and gives everyone who comes to his place of biz a "more than fair" deal on any work that needs to take place. If he can fix it for free, he will.
Ask around, ask anyone.
Expect to drop your car in the morning and pay cash for services rendered. Enjoy it while it lasts because this is the last shop of it's kind and reminiscent of a long gone era.

It’s very hard to find honest shops. If you need a good, respectable AC guy, this is your spot. I’ll be bringing my car back to Hughes if/when an issue comes up again. Quick, fairly priced, and honest. Not many shops like that these days
This business owner is the best all around. He has more morals that the Vatican. He is honest, timely, above the high point for service expectation. If I would have taken my car here instead of Bridges Automotive on Mayport, I would have saved myself from being rear-ended and victimized.
