i’ve gotten a lot of work done here by a few artists over the last few months and i adore everyone here. they’re all super chill & i like that the vibe isn’t tense between the artists. im not going to any other shop in the state.
Atra Capra has the most wonderful balance of artistic talent, true walk-in availability/flexibility, and easy-to-talk-to creators. ☺️❤️ Thankful to have them in the Woodlawn community!
I ran into a sticky situation where the artist from another studio who was set to create my first tattoo just before my birthday had to cancel after having scheduled the appointment more than a month in advance. Bummer. ????
I called Atra Capra the same day I found out, and Devin was willing to meet with me for a consultation a few hours later that afternoon. ☺️ She and Nails took the time to thoughtfully consult with me on my admittedly conceptually odd tattoo idea, and Devin was so flexible in meeting with me the very next day to create my tattoo.
Devin was incredibly calm, respectful, conversational, and was willing to let me have my spouse or one of my best friends come back to sit with us while she created the tattoo. ☺️ Devin was also really efficient yet thoughtful in her creation of the tattoo, and it felt like a true collaboration between the two of us in making this idea a tangible piece of art.
I will definitely be back when the tattoo bug bites again! ???? Many thanks to Devin, Nails, and the rest of the studio for accommodating me and making my birthday tattoo a reality! ❤️
Highly recommend Sharon! She made my vision come to life. Super happy with the work she did. Came in as a walk-in and they worked us in super quickly and the quality of work was awesome. Loved the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
I’ll put it to you this way: I will ONLY go here for my work. I drive from Atlanta to get my work done by Sharon. The artists are the best and the shop is super clean and low key.
Lana was so incredibly kind and willing to work with me! This was my first tattoo so I had a lot of nerves and questions and she was always quick to answer and was never judgmental. When I came in to get my tattoo everyone at the shop greeted me with a smile and looked happy to be there! Cannot recommend them enough!!
I was nervous when I first walked to ask for pricing on a tattoo I wanted and honestly I'm so glad I went in. Devin did a great job!! And I felt very welcomed.????

On a whim my sister, her partner, and I decided to get tattoos while we were in Birmingham. After a bit of research we found Atra Capra who appeared to welcome walk-ins and had an impressive collection of artists. We were not disappointed! The vibe was very chill and we had a fun time. I worked with Sharon and got a beautiful floral piece.
I absolutely ADORED getting tattooed by Lana! They were very professional, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming! I ended up getting an Over the Garden Wall flash Lana had listed on her insta, and GOSH it's so pretty! Higly recommend both Atra Capra and Lana!
