What I witnessed on December 9, 2023 was absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL.. Annie’s husband came in yelling at a stylist about booth rent in front of a customer (me). I was so upset I could not get my usual in fear of him coming back in yelling again. He could have done this in another way especially not in front of other people.. TIME AND PLACE is a REAL thing.
When I went here they said one piece and charged me more when they were about done with my hair then two days later my was coming out sad but true
She will never do my hair with a rude and disrespectful husband they are very unprofessional
Made a appointment two weeks in advance!
Unfortunately Annie was out of town and her daughter made my appointment I told her I wanted twist and in her response she said ok and that they had the hair to do what I wanted. Once I arrived I was told they did not have the hair.. wish I would have known prior ... due to me leaving town for a wedding I’m in the day was the only day to get my hair done. I eventually had to go buy my hair extra money I didn’t plan on spending $60 later And an almost two hour drive I got back to the salon around 11 am her daughter is pregnant and I understand that but the whole time she coughed and burped on me ! While doing my hair she had no regards to the health of my hair it felt as if she was ripping it out. Between the countless bathroom visits minutes in end and lunch break for her I was there until after ten pm. When finished I was charged $220 for simple Marley twist that come a little past the middle of my back! The outcome of the hair is good but I know poor service and when I’m way over charged... Mrs. Annie was nice just a poor experience and waste of money $280 not well spent! Was really looking forward to this being my primary salon as I have many family who have gone here. But can’t lie felt very token advantage of because I was new.
Annie was professional and nice. She did a same day appointment and she was quick. I got a retwist on my average length loc and she it took about 35 minutes. Hair was pretty.
I love her! I've been to many different stylist and Annie is great. So braiding places are kinda ghetto but her place is always clean and professionally presented. She calls in help if a session goes too long and other customers might be inconvenience by waiting. She's one person and runs a major business that serves a great need in this community. To make a black woman hapy with her hair, but the facIs she's been here for years really says something. I get compliments on my hair all the time and I'm always recommending Annie.
I ended up leaving with my daughter because when we arrived the stylist had her baby on the floor on a huge play pad and when my daughter sat down her feet touched the pad the stylist made her move to the only seat in the shop that the baby pad wasn't near, so I'm left standing there like where am i going to sit? I left my daughter anyway and by the time i got to my car to get my charge my daughter calls me and says she doesn't want to stay because the atmosphere was totally off. I know they do awesome work ive seen it, and that people have to realize that they have to bring their children to work with them.
Annie is very sweet as well as her staff and family, but it is over priced! I have been going to her for some time, and no matter what style I get or how long I'm at he salon $180. I have got micros once and every other time box. It would be nice is she did consultations instead of staff just starting to work on your hair without questions. My braids on my edges came out a few time, and it because one it was done too tight as well as not enough hair to support the braid. I told the stylist that and she pretty much did what she wanted as well as said the bigger the braid the tighter. Which maybe some what true but also the more synthetic hair you add the more natural hair you need to add to it as well. The last time I was there I ask them to do my box braids a little longer because previously I was unable to pull them into a complete bun and she went up to $200 which is ridiculous. I will probably not go back, not because I don't think they are capable but because for the amout that they charge it could be much better service. Stop braiding so tight, especially edges. Consult consult consult! Which should consist of the following; What style, how long, how much tention, where would you like your part, color and it would be nice for them to actually listen and do as you ask as a client ask within a compromise.
