I recently visited 9W Motor Werks for a routine oil change, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired.
Upon arrival I warned him (owner/mechanic) the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor) light was on for one of the tires (front left), but I did not want that to be touched at this time. However, my request was ignored and he tried to investigate that. After the oil change, he claimed to have found issues with all 4 of the TPMS. When I questioned the reason for him to do something I clearly did not allow him to and the validity of these supposed faults, he couldn't provide satisfactory explanations besides “I didn’t hear you saying that.”
I believe he (the owner) attempted to upsell unnecessary repairs. It felt like he was simply trying to make a quick buck at my expense. This is not the first time I have this feeling there, and that’s why I have pictures of how the TPMS looked before he touched the car: cannot explain how I sensed that he would do something like that because he can make more money fixing 4 TPMS than only 1!
Anyways, it's disappointing to encounter such dishonest practices in what should be a straightforward service.
I will not be returning to 9W Motor Werks and I strongly advise others to proceed with caution if considering his services. Trustworthiness and transparency are essential qualities in the automotive industry, and unfortunately, this establishment falls short in both regards.
Donovan and his shop are THE best. He has diligently supported the upkeep of our cadet’s car over the last 4 years (and recently an issue with ours when we had a problem on a recent visit). He was first recommended to us by another highly rated mechanic in Highland Falls when that mechanic determined that he could not service my daughter’s vehicle which gave us confidence in Donovan’s high industry reputation. Look no further!
He kept our car for 9 months! We finally had to get a New Windsor police to get our car back. He claimed the car had break system problem which he said will cost about $5000. Took it to other service center and they said all was fine and car's been running with no problems for 10 months now! He refused to release my car and yelled and screamed and refused to give the car back and he said don't bother until he calls. .When police arrived, he immediately released the car, he did not touch the car for 9 months!! He drove this car around for his personal use!
I was not going to bother writing any review but I am writing to warn other people about this place. Please be careful.

A close family friend brought their car here a while ago for a checkup and eventually got their car back, the guy tried to scam them for parts they didnt need and held onto the car for a couple months. Took the car to another mechanic to get checked out and they didn't have to fix anything, nothing was wrong in the first place. I wouldn't recommend this place after seeing what they went through.
Donovan runs a professional, fair, and honest business at 9W Motorwerks. I am a military service member and own a VW. Although Donovan works heavily with BMW, he was courteous and assisted me when my European car's water pump and cooling system failed. He saved me HUNDREDS of dollars compared to the dealership or another mechanic. I will continue to trust him with all my future automotive repairs. 5-STAR BUSINESS with HONEST REPAIRS!!!
Donovan is knowledgable and complete. He has serviced my 2006 BMW for over 10 years. He provides complete service and has been a key to keeping my car operating well. His pricing is fair and very competitive with Independent service centers. Given his extensive knowledge, resources and customer service its a pleasure doing business with him. I recommend him consistenly.
Dominic is a BMW man by trade, but will work on anything. I took my BMW to him for a year and he was great. I always felt that he was honest and did good work. Since selling, I've taken my older Jeep to him with no problems. I trust him to give me a fare price and recommend friends to him all the time.
