It is simply a parking lot so there is not much to rate this on but on availability, condition and convenience. One positive is that there is parking at least. When visiting the shipyard, the parking is at a premium and you can spend an eternity to find a more convenient spot, but to find a spot close is to the entrance would require something close to a miracle especially when arriving after six or seven am. There is plenty of parking in this lot, but the lot is unpaved, and it requires a long walk to the gate. Followed by a long walk to Engineering build. This is followed by a long walk to the ship. Remember that I am describing a one-way trip so there is a return trip that must be made. On the upside is that by the time you get to your car the majority of the traffic would have left. That should make your drive out less competitive.

It gets two stars. One for availability and the other for being a direct route to the entrance but more for the fact that it is available. If your lucky you could arrange for someone to pick you up. This lot is worth a try especially because you probably will not have any other choice.

This place is a bit of a madhouse to navigate, especially during a shift change. If visiting the shipyard for the first time I strongly recommend arriving early and allowing time to drive around aimlessly trying to find the appropriate buildings. But a lot of people work here and it's referred to as the "Pascagoula 500" because of the traffic and people zooming around like maniacs.

Take your time. Be careful.

Lights, safe, parking has room for the larger vehicles as well , no squeezing to get in my truck.
