Best WLM Reviews
My friend and I were looking for a place open later than 9pm tonight after leaving an event (Thursday 3/14/24)and we found the 5th Tavern. It was our first time visiting, but we had such wonderful service and food, we were already planning our next trip back before we left. Our waitress was extremely thorough and the gentleman at the front was very friendly and polite. I had the shrimp tacos with french onion soup and they both were amazing! The french onion soup was one of the best I have had and the tacos were fresh and had a great chipotle sauce. The atmosphere was nice as well. We were there until 10pm when they closed and did not feel rushed, no one was cleaning around us and they did not make us feel like we were keeping them there. I wish I would have got the name of the gentleman at the front, but I believe our waitress was Brook. Thank you for a great experience, We look forward to coming back with our husbands!
Ordered delivery of lobster grilled cheese and yam fries & tomato bisque, fruity chicken salad with vinaigrette, huge shrimp & Swiss burger with kettle chips. With $9 tax and fees, $15 discount, cost $46. Enough yummy, fresh food for about 6 to 10 meals. Made without msg.
I was expecting a great mother's day dinner from previous reviews, however that was not what I experienced. We got our appetizers and drinks fairly quickly the first time. However, refills of drinks were not attended to by our server very much. My ribeye was supposed to be medium rare, came out med well. My son got the NY strip with sautéed mushrooms, steak was bland and mushrooms were out of a can and seemed to be cooked in a soy sauce. Calamari fritti was really good though. I always give credit where credit is due, but this circumstance I just couldn't and it was for my son to treat me for mother's day. Just over all disappointed!!
I came here for my birthday the bar area was packed so we sat out on the patio, this was my first time here! Very nice inside, wanted to be in the bar area but oh well!!!!
Everything, on there menu sounded really good!! They have a very good menu selection! I just decided on a blue margarita (Forgot the name, but was delicious????) Also had the coconut shrimp which was delicious in cake in a tangy sauce that was ???? My dad ordered the nachos and they were huge!!! Another person got the burger and fries and said it was delicious, will definitely come back at a different time!!????????????
Ooh yeah, appetizers were half off during happy hour????
Update: 4/15/2024:
We came back for my birthday again this year, and it must've been a rough day.
The coconut shrimp was delicious. (CILANTRO HEADSUP, it's not listed on the menu, but this does include cilantro. It is in pieces that can be easily picked out )
I ordered the ribeye, mid-rare. When it came out, I cut it to check the temperature, and it was well done. (Note: it was still flavorful, and if you like a well done steak, it's as good as I've had. It just wasn't what I wanted for my birthday.)
The second steak, I did the same thing. And it looked mid rare in the middle. But I usually eat my steaks from the outside-in, so I cut my first bite from the edge. And it was blue-rare. Which again, if that's how you like your steaks, good on ya, but it's not what I ordered. They took back the undercooked half of the steak, and left me with the portion that had cooked alright.
The 3rd cook was fine. They season their steak beautifully, it's just a shame it was such an off day for the cook.
Our waiter was super patient and understanding. The manager came and offered us a free dessert.
We chose bread pudding. And heres where it was perplexing: the bread pudding was served stone cold? I've never had a cold bread pudding, but we were assured that was intentional. Weird choice. Makes me think the bread pudding isn't made there, but bought in. I'd skip the desserts.

4/15/2023The food here is AMAZING.
I love the chicken satay.
Tried the bone-in ribeye. It was beautifully flavored and tender. With the zip sauce... It was a dream to eat.
Look forward to coming back again in the future.
This restaurant was exceptional all around. Lisandro was our server and he was attentive, knowledgeable, and had Fifth Tavern’s signature flavors integrated into his suggestive selling. He was great. Aside from that, I was impressed by the fact that their bartender was able to accommodate my cinnamon sugar rim, with my Angry Orchard. I was so pleased. Everything was reasonably priced, and when we asked for the manager to complement the restaurant, she came over so quickly. This place deserves more than 5 stars! We’ll be back.
I only had the grilled asparagus while here, and it was excellent. The atmosphere here was great, and the bartender was very nice! Will come back again for dinner ⭐
First time trying this place out, and it was pretty good. I like the atmosphere and the wait staff all helped out one another. I would suggest asking the servers what they recommend to eat if you don’t already have an idea. The meal servings are pretty big so you can definitely share. Half off wine Wednesday you can’t beat that. Carlos was our server it was his 3rd day on the floor and he is doing a great job, we was in a room with 3 big parties so remember socialize be kind and be patient next time I’m in Detroit I will comeback.
