Stepping into 13 Coins is like being whisked away to a swanky joint straight out of the 1930s—only, with better lighting and none of that Prohibition nonsense. From the moment you sink into one of those plush, oversized chairs (you know, the kind that might make you feel like a villain in a spy movie), you realize this isn't your average diner. It's an experience.
Enter Bobbi Joe, not just a waitress, but a maestro of menu mastery. She comes at you with recommendations so spot-on, you'd think she's been spying on your taste buds for years. And let me tell you, she does not disappoint.
The food? Stellar. But it's Bobbi Joe's flair that turns a great meal into an unforgettable dining escapade. Whether you're bellied up to the bar watching the culinary magic happen or just soaking in the old-school ambiance, 13 Coins is a must-visit. Hats off to Bobbi Joe and the team for not just serving a meal, but serving it with style.
Kids took us to 13 Coins Sea Tacos for Mother’s Day breakfast. It was 1980 when I first experienced the restaurant. Loved the decor. Thirteen coins on table top. The huge wrap around chairs. Loved the chairs right in front of grill. Chef’s busy making your meals. Very entertaining, while u wait for delivery of your food order. Or while eating your meal. Kinda like a high class diner. Food was very good, server was friendly and took our order right away. Staff were dressed professionally. Place was clean and still after all these years a good place to visit. Noticed that they are not 24 hours. Parking still tough to find. Even has tables outside. Lots of seating. Close to airport.
Holden made a bomb salad and created a great experience at the 13 coins in seaTac. Came for my mom's 77th birthday dinner, and they didn't disappoint. Fresh food is great, and the service is worth the 30-minute wait. Strong drinking in the bar and they sang to my mother-in-law.
Coming back again soon
Top-notch food and service.
Sadly we were late for our flight and we couldn’t take our food but I’d love to come back to Seattle just for this place, it’s truly that good!!
One of my favorite places to go! Love the environment and staff is always friendly. Good for a a first date/lunch/dinner with bae . Easy to find! I like to stop here after I get off the plane or a Saturday night and I don’t want to cook. Expect to pay $30 + per person for dinner. Foods you MUST TRY…
Bucket of clams (pesto clams) 3 stars
Bananas foster (3 stars)
Steak bites (3 stars)
Rib eye steak with noodles (3 stars)
Lobster Mac (3 stars)
Average food taste
Large space but seating is along the open kitchen so oil smell filled up the mouth and nose….the exhaust was either not there or not adequate to absorb the cooking smell
Our server was polite but had great difficulty in understanding our order because of accent
Drinks were good
Overall below average experience
I’ve been to other locations and this one just isn’t as nice. Worn seats and menus. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of hash browns. The hash browns came out really greasy and I had to ask for it to be corrected. By the time the new ones came I was already done with my food. I did wait and tried to eat slowly before getting disappointed. I wish they didn’t charge me for them but they did. I also had to flag down another server for condiments.
13 Coins has been a great restaurant for decades. My dad took us to the old location by the old Seattle Times building in downtown Seattle during the 90s first. This location is great if you're waiting for a flight, you can even walk to the terminal. The food is great, huge portions. All day breakfast is a treat: Eggs Benedict, Sausage and Cheese Omelette, and their Monte Cristo! The atmosphere is retro, they could film a movie in there and pretend it is the 1950s. Also, sitting at the counter and watching the chefs cook is a treat! Landmark Seattle location!
