My husband ordered the pork roast, rice, gravy, green beans, and potato salad plate lunch, and I ordered the chuck steak, rice, gravy, green beans, and tomato cucumber salad plate lunch. Both lunches had a roll. Very delicious! Food was just cooked and served hot. This business is take-out, but we were allowed to park under a tree by the drive way to eat our lunches. The place is clean looking. The employee is nice. Also other foods were available to order.
Food really good and customer service great.
The food was just ok. On the other hand the desserts were excellent. The Peach Cobbler was melt in your mouth good. The Caramel Praline Cake was excellent. However the serving size was very small for the cake and it cost $4.00. The cobbler was about a tablespoon serving size for $2.00.
This place is hit or miss. I have eaten from here about 15 times and most of the time the food is very spicy… like toooo spicy. I like Buffalo Wild Wings hot wings. It’s so it’s not like I’m being wimpy about how spicy ZZs food is. The flavor of the food is good if you can find it somewhere in the heat! I usually only go there on certain days when I’m in the mood for that heat otherwise I pass on by. All of the food I’ve had has been over rice with a gravy. Maybe I’ll switch it up a bit and try a burger or their gumbo next time. They are on the more expensive side for a plate lunch too. It’s about $14.50 for a lunch with a drink with taxes and CC surcharges.
The food here has no flavor at all. The shrimp stew was horrible and the shrimp were not fully cooked. The potato salad taste like mustard and the corn didn't even taste like corn. $20 for one plate in the garbage! Never again.
Food is hit or miss. Its either really bland or too spicy. If you want a plate lunch expect to pay 14-$15 after taxes if you get a drink with it because of CC surcharges. They regularly are out of the main menu items so call before you go pickup.
I am not a religious man, yet I felt I had a religious experience when I ordered food from ZZs.
The meatball stew was so delicious when I closed my eyes, I could have sworn I was in my Mom's kitchen, or my Great Aunts and Grandmothers kitchen. I am telling you I heard a Cajun band playing Jole Blon and Hold My False Teeth While I go out and Dance.
I did not think Mac and cheese could taste like something I never wanted to stop eating.
The potato salad was not potato salad but some unearthly mana from a special place that could only be made by magic.
Then, I ate some of the Black Berry cobbler. At the first bite I heard a chorus of angels singing, and as I went deeper into the cup the chorus grew louder. I was teary eyed when I finished the Black Berry cobbler.
I do not know what kind of magic ZZs put in the food but I never wanted to stop eating the food. Thank you.
I love the food every time I go. The employees are so nice and you never have to wait, but not the cost.
