This place is the real deal.. wonderful pizza. The sausage was our favorite, but the meatball and pepperoni were also pretty good. Very nice staff too. Top 3 places for pizza in Connecticut. Forget Sally’s or modern.
This was our first New Haven pizza we tried after seeing videos online. We didn’t have to wait once we reached. Service is good , our waitress was really nice. The food did come out early but our waitress did forget one of our order as they were very busy.
Garden veggies pizza- 4/5-this was a little soggy and the broccoli was little raw for my preference.
Chicken pesto pizza-5/5- Came out really good crisp and well done.
Worth trying once.
On our pizza tour we went here on Saturday night, pizza was very good, not as good as Modern or Pepe's but better than Sally's in the New Haven area. The Pizza Had good taste the sausage was awesome, the wait wasn't too bad! Overall great experience. I will definitely go back!! The place was very busy!! And we got there for 5pm.
Second stop for Apizza while in town for business. Was looking forward to dining here based on reviews, although some were conflicting.
Arrived around 6:30 and greeted at counter and told to take a seat wherever I liked.
Already had my mind made up on sausage and hot cherry pie, to compare to earlier lunch experience, along with a Gorgonzola salad. Salad came out quick and dressing was tasty. Nothing special to note, but in reality the pizza is the focus here.
Pizza had minimum char and soggy. Unable to eat a slice with hands as it completely flopped and toppings came off. Sausage was good. Based on my experience, I was extremely disappointed. Would give them another try and ask for crust to be well done.
Zuppardi's Apizza.... I miss you. By far both mine and my persons favorite pizza in the world... and we've eat a lot of pizza. There's something in that water. We got The Special and a plain cheese pizza. Both were phenomenal. Perfect crust, toppings, crunch... just perfect. During our own little pizza tour we orchestrated, Zuppardi's Apizza was one we'll come back to, always.
Worth the wait, delicious crust cooked to perfection. Our first time eating here, not sure if we would have ever found it with out our family, was so worth a wait on a Friday night. Super authentic atmosphere, clean, honest, truly good pizza. Escarole and Bean was garlicy, savory and tender and crispy. The ovens were full and, kitchen was buzzing with dine in and carryout business. So happy to have had this experience.
Absolutely my favorite pizza place in west haven. Super friendly staff. Clean and not expensive. Would recommend going early as their dining room isn't very large.
For anyone who thinks apizza does not have enough cheese this place is for them. I got a cheese pull from a warm pie. Great dough, soft chewy but with a crispy bottom, and even a good sauce. To top it off they have been around for a few years so the restaurants really cool. definitely going to eat in next time.
