Best WLM Reviews

Everyone was smiling and very nice when I walked in to pick up my order. The food tasted fresh and it was flavorful. Definitely satisfied the craving of missing my wife’s food while she’s away. I will be back!
My partner wanted an ube cake for his birthday this year and Zul knocked it out of the park! I preordered this cake on a Sunday and it was ready for pickup the following Tuesday as per my request; I was really impressed by their speed and professionalism! Zul’s Ube Cake was absolute perfection. I’ve tried other ube desserts from different states & other establishments, nothing holds a candle to their Ube Cake!
Very happy with our food. Pork sisig was the star. Adobo chicken was solid. Noodles were ok. Lumpiang was very good.
Been a long time since I've had decent Filipino food and this place hits the spot just right .... right in downtown new haven!!!!.
be prepared to search for parking though????
..... Tiny place and little to no seating mostly takeout , we were able to sit down . first had their app sampler and lechon kawali which is pork belly perfectly done fried crispy outside juicy and flavorful tender inside served with rice and roast sauce ...we also had the pork sisig....chopped pork with citrus chopped onions peppers that had us wanting more ...we finished our meals with halo halo which Is Filipino shaved ice with fruit toppings flan and ube ice cream finished off with evaporated milk and then mixed together with a spoon as recommended by the owner.....also had taho..silky soft tofu with brow sugar syrup and bona pearls ...simply decadent ......would love to go again just a bit pricy !!!!
Choices are plentiful, server/cashier is nice. Most importantly however…the food is amazing. Generous portion size and the price isn’t half bad for New Haven, especially for the appetizer sampler.
The dessert is such a new blend of flavors if you have never had filipino cuisine. Anything from the grill/bbq is great so far. Still need to try the baked goods, ube ice cream is on point. It really is nice to have something different every once in a while.
Location is a bit cozy, but oh well. They have a bigger location in Norwalk. Currently about 5-6 meals in and none are a miss, glad its here.
The hidden gem of New Haven. Very small place you can only get take out. But good portion and the food is delicious. I had the fried fish. Simple yet fresh and flavorful. The halo halo is a little hard to mix though being in a tall cup.
My family ate at this restaurant for my brother’s birthday, and I can assert that Zul completely exceeded my expectations for what hospitality and authentic Filipino food should be like. If you’re considering visiting Zul, I hope this review helps to inform you of just how wonderful the experience is at this place!
The atmosphere of this restaurant reminded me of enjoying a freshly cooked meal in the kitchen of a Filipino household. The decorations made me feel at home. In addition, the karaoke room was beautifully furnished and provided a sense of ease and relaxation. The restroom was comfortable and entirely clean.
As for the hospitality, the owners were friendly and helpful. Gladys was exceptionally confident with the menu and gave appetizing recommendations. The food was certainly the best part of the experience. The chicken was salty with an astonishingly crispy exterior, yet it was so soft and tender inside that it tore apart easily. Meanwhile, the spongy ube mango cake held a perfect balance between tangy and sweet. All the food at Zul, including the baked goods, is made from scratch.
Overall, because of its atmosphere, hospitality, and delicious authentic Filipino food, Zul is one of my first choices to recommend to anyone in the area who is interested in exploring different cuisine. “Ten thumbs-up!”
Pretty good food for a reasonable price, but the service was great. The man running the store was very kind and welcoming. We ordered the BBQ Chicken and the Lechon Kawali (crispy pork belly). The meats weren’t too tender, but the flavor of them was wonderful. The BBQ chicken had a nice charred flavor. The pork was a little too hard for my liking, but overall enjoyed the comfortable meal!
