Best WLM Reviews

We went here for the first time today. I had been craving Chinese food for awhile. I’ll start off with the service which was good. We were greeted quickly and sat down right away. They had our drinks, soup, and food out to us pretty fast.
Now my food was good. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch combo. It came with egg flower soup, fried rice, cheese wantons and the chicken. It was all hot like it was freshly cooked and the breading on the chicken was nice and crunchy and the chicken was tender.
My husband got sweet and sour soup and Mongolian beef combo plate. His soup was pretty spicy which he didn’t expect. He said “they should name it sour spicy soup not sweet and sour.” Needless to say he didn’t eat it. And his Mongolian beef was good.. until he bit into a red pepper that was hidden in his veggies and it blew his palate out. He is someone who loves spicy foods. We go to a Thai place and he gets a level 10 spice but this was way too much for him… so I imagine if it was me I probably would have been crying. ????
All in all the food was decent and the service was good. Be cautious of those red peppers though.
Upon walking in, the place was very clean. The tables and booths all looked nice, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Not to mention the fast service. The food was brought out insanely quickly, faster than a lot of other places I’ve been. The waitress was very nice and hastily got us everything we needed. As well, we were seated sooner than I expected for a Saturday evening. Our food was great as well. The portions of all the plates were perfect for a party of three, including a grown man who is practically a human garbage disposal.
TL;DR — A normal Chinese takeout restaurant. Nothing too special or life-changing, but still a pleasant visit and warm meal. Good portions, food, & service. Maybe just add some sweet & sour sauce with the wonton appetizer.
Crab Cheese Wontons: 8/10. The wontons from here are pretty good. Filled with crab and cheese, they’re golden and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. They would be better if they came with some red sauce, as I always enjoy dipping them in that (pictured is the sauce that came with the egg roll appetizer). However, they were a good starter either way. It’s hard to mess them up.
Potstickers: 9/10. I love the potstickers from here as well. They have some vegetables and meat stuffed in them, and their wrap is extremely soft to the touch. Paired with the sauce they come with, they’re a nice light start to the meal. The inside was a bit more crunchy and veggie filled than I initially expected, but it didn’t take much away from the experience.
Egg Roll: 8/10. I’m typically not a big egg roll fan, but the egg rolls here are surprisingly tasty. It was more of a spring roll than an egg roll weirdly enough, which might be why I enjoyed it more than usual. Anyway, the inside was really nice. There’s a creamy filling that goes great with the sweet and sour sauce that comes with it. It’s thick but doesn’t skimp on any stuffing. A pretty solid egg spring roll in total.
Hot & Sour Soup: 9/10. The soup was great. Its consistency was thick, and the flavoring was very rich and warm, with the perfect amount of spice. It was a great portion before eating everything else, and the spice level was just as I wanted. I’m typically not a fan of mushrooms, so like other dishes containing mushroom, I didn’t think I would totally finish it. However, I found myself cleaning the bowl and scraping the bottom, even with my appetizers right next to me. A great classic of American-Chinese cuisine that Chopstix does well.
General Tsao’s Chicken: 8/10. I’m glad I ordered this extra spicy, because the normal one would have not been hot enough. This was saucy and tangy, holding a piquancy that left my lips tingling. The chicken mixed with chili paste and soy sauce was even better than the Tso’s just by itself. Overall, it was a satisfying and decadent entree. It was filling, hot, and what I expected in a General Tso’s meal.
Moo Goo Gai Pan: 7/10. This was primary my parents’ order, so I didn’t eat much. However, I did have a few pieces of chicken. The meat is tender and juicy, not too saucy while still remaining soft and mellow in terms of flavor. Not my favorite dish since I prefer my Chinese takeout on the tangy and richer side, but this was a good option that was probably healthier than most other things that had been ordered.
Sesame Mochi Balls: 4/10. These sesame ball mochi aren’t my cup of tea. They’re much less sweet than I expected. That’s my fault though, the past ones I’ve had were much more saccharine. They certainly have a sesame taste to them, the name doesn’t lie. The dough has a slight tinge of something sugary to it, but the bean paste is much more natural and almost earthy in flavor. This isn’t my kind of dessert, but it’ll be much more appreciated by those who don’t like sugar-coated things to end off a meal.
Dessert Wontons: ?/10. I neither eat nor like chocolate. However, my parents found it alright. My parents finished one each, leaving one remaining. It was on the house, which was generous of Chopstix to do. It seemed to be passable for them.
Yummy, fresh food! Love the pan fried noodles! Everything is yummy! Great environment.
The people here were really nice. We got seated quickly and got our soup served to us right after ordering, which was great. Our food did take a little while, but not a long time considering we were a group of 7 and we did have the soup to tide us over for a minute. The portions were large on the combination dinner platters. The individual food orders were large as well and the rice bowl that comes with it was enough for 2-3 people. The food was above par compared to other Chinese restaurants and we would definitely go here again.
We were a group of 18 on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm. The main server (older woman) looked completely flabbergasted to see our large group and forgot what drinks we ordered because she tried to memorize them, she got to the fourth drink and forgot the first and second. Then, a younger server (under 21) was forced to take all of our orders because they spoke English. This restaurant serves wine and beer. They REFUSED to serve some of the adults any alcohol because our group had underage children (4 teenagers.) They ALSO refused to let a senior citizen (95 years old) order a kids menu item. Chicken nuggets is the only thing the senior citizen wanted in our group. They ran out of another drink and forcefully added a 20% gratuity without giving us an option on what tip amount was going to be. (We were going to tip generously on our own.)
Food was good but SERVICE WAS BAD. We won't be coming here again. We don't recommend anyone do either.
Delicious, absolutely delicious.
We had the orange chicken and the dinner platter.
Great prices and good amount of food.
5/5 ????
Stopped here for lunch today. I got the General Tso’s lunch’s special. The lunch menu is a good portion size, with enough food for left overs. I was able to request how spicy they made the chicken which I appreciated. The cooked vegetables could have been cooked a little bit longer.
There was no wait time to be seated, and the staff was very friendly and punctual. Santiago was a very personable waiter and kind when asking about menu items. We only had to wait 10-15 minutes after ordering until our food arrived.
The restaurant was clean and there was plenty of parking in front and behind the building.
Friendly service, though short staffed. Tasty wonton and sweet and sour sauce. Hot and Sour Soup had ok heat but was mild on flavor and was on the thick side. Nice variety on the Pao-Pao Platter. Very accommodating to dietary sensitivities. Meat and veggies in Cashew Nut Chicken were done perfectly! However, the brown sauce did not have as much flavor as I had hoped and was on the starchy side (slightly gritty).
