I heard about Zeytoon Cafe from a local and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy and charming atmosphere, the friendly service, and the delicious food. The restaurant has a rooftop deck with a nice view of the ocean and the street. It was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the breeze.
I ordered the Chicken Shawarma, which came with hummus, salad, rice, and pita bread. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the portions were generous. My friend had the Rosemary Lemon Chicken Panini, which was also very tasty and satisfying. The bread was toasted and crispy, and the cheese was melted and gooey. We also shared a bottle of wine from their selection of specialty beers and wines.
The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The staff was attentive and courteous, and they checked on us frequently.
We had a wonderful time at Zeytoon Cafe, and we will definitely come back again. It is a hidden gem in Laguna Beach that offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a cozy and casual setting. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves good food and good vibes.
Refreshing and delicious. We sat on the 2nd floor rooftop area and enjoyed the food. It was a very hot summer day, and we had the umbrellas for shade. After walking long the beach, this was a nice rest from the heat.
Incredible and authentic Mediterranean Bistro. I came here with a friend who is middle eastern, and she was a fan of the home cooked styles served fresh. There’s a wonderful variety of food. We tried the lentil soup, Manaeesh, Hummus and Kibbeh with beef.
If you’re unsure what to get, I suggest the Mezza sampler to get a range of tastes, and if you eat meat, the Kibbeh is where it’s at.
I love food that speaks for itself, and this is where food does all the talking. We opted for freshly baked Baklava, which had the perfect amount of sweetness to the delicate pastry.

There’s a nice patio area on the roof that lends itself to a nice view down the Sleepy Hollow area.
I liked chicken with salad, even it was not that big, but was extremely disappointed with soup. It was so small size, even less than a small cup, while I was charged 27 for soup and chicken to take out. But all these were packed in a huge bag, I guess that’s what I paid for. Would not recommend definitely, many good places around to enjoy!
I rarely give bad reviews unless I think a place deserves it. The food itself was either bland or over seasoned. The flaffels were bitter and the chicken shawarma over spiced with either too much curry or Tikka Masala. The portions were way too small. I would not return here as the food didnt have any Mediterranean taste.

Surfer j here with another top review. ????♀️ I was catching up with the boyz in Laguna this weekend. Hit the surf hard. Came to zeytoon ate lots of great food, sat on the patio for hours and pounded several Peronis. It was quiet place and less touristy, and highly recommend the place.
Great food. Awesome ambience and super awesome hosts. Tried shawarma and flatbreads. Everything was so good.
