Best WLM Reviews

Had an amazing experience at Zeni in Silver Spring! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly attentive. The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes, each bursting with flavor. It's clear they're committed to quality and a great dining experience. Definitely a five-star visit and can't wait to return!
Now this was a fantastic meal in all ways possible!!!
I used the Yelp waitlist app for the first time and checked in on arrival. I was amazed at ease of getting in line has become of this feature by Yelp! Kudos to the Yelp team !!!
We had a bit of a wait but it was a Saturday night dinner and that was to be expected.
Well we started off our dinner with sharing a Sambussa which was served with a spicy chili sauce. It was completely different from either the Indian or the Burmese samosa and having it with the chili sauce was ah-mazing!!! Fresh warm, not too oily or heavy on the spices. We both loved it and it was gone with a flash!
There was a nip in the air and we were looking for some warm to drink. So my better half ordered the Spiced Ethiopian Tea - another fantastic find!! And perfect for the weather. We both loved the taste of all spices that come through with each sip. We will come back for this itself. And next time try the Ethiopian coffee and the honey wine!
Finally we ordered the vegetarian combo platter. Photos will tell the rest of the story. But in summary, fresh , wholesome and enough for more than two!!! And the Injeera bread was to die for!!!
Now about the service , all of them from our usher to the order taker to the server , all were very very friendly, attentive. They create this inviting atmosphere that is a sure draw for customers like me .
And then We met Zuru, the owner is his mother and he himself is the ever smiling, soft spoken and looking for ways to please his customers. He only adds to the charm of this restaurant and I would love to meet him again, the next I am here!
And that will be real soon !!
If there was a zero star this place definitely deserves it. The worst veggie combo ever in the DMV area. If you are craving veggie combo please avoid this restaurant. You’d only be getting lentils unlike other Ethiopian restaurant who offer better and diverse. Worst money spent ever.
I am sorry but this presentation looks absolutely vile. It looks like someone put an alien on my plate and wrapped it with a bloody dish rag. I try to be open minded, but I cannot fathom this monstrosity. The egg looks like an eye peering into my soul. Never again.
The decor is suspect. I got a tasty meal. I thought their injera was very good. Their beef with egg had injera cut-and-rolled-up in it, as well as placed on a round injera. I have not had an Ethiopian dish that was laced with injera strips. It was good, but gave the impression of trying to increase food volume in a cheap way. The service was great, but they have TV volume a bit loud.
I had no previous experience in tasting Ethiopian cuisine in my life. I had a chance to taste for the first time in this restaurant. There was an online table reservation by which my waiting time was considerably lessened. The ambiance was very nice and comfortably warm during this winter. The quality of the food was good and waiters were receptive. I was fully satisfied with the restaurant.
I’m a fan of Ethiopian coffee so I was excited to try this place out… Based off the reviews I’m lucky I even got greeted at all so there’s that 1 star.
However, they definitely assumed I was a door dasher because they (the cashier and other woman ) kept looking at my phone rather than letting me proceed to the register to order.
I tell the cashier I just want a small black coffee and I literally stand there for a good 6 minutes as they converse like I’m not even there…
By the time I leave, he’s asking how many sugars - I’m literally at Ceremony up the street enjoying a latte as I write this poor review. I don’t appreciate this at all from a black business as a black barista/ individual.
This restaurant has the poorest customer service. I am here currently to pick up an online order. No one came out to greet me. I called out serveal times before someone came and they said they needed 8 more minutes until it was ready. I went to sit in my car and came back in 15 minutes later. No one has greeted me yet, they just keep peeping at me and saying nothing. This is the absolute WORST! Mind you, I'm 7 months pregnant and waiting on them to finally bring out the food. The order was supposed to be ready at 3:17pm, it is now 3:43pm. Smh.
