I've met the manager at this establishment several times and during this particular visit the staff was cleaning up the lobby prior to close. I saw that they closed 30 minutes early in the lobby area however they did have a drive-through open but as a courtesy one of the employees decided to pick up my mobile order and bring it to the door for me and my young daughter. It was so nice In fact that my next visit I gave him a nice tip for him to enjoy.
It's clear not all Zaxby's are created equal. Been to several others near me and the chicken was barely tossed and tasted old. Not to mention them getting my order wrong. However, this particular Zaxby's on Mechanicsville was really good. The food was hot, chicken was tossed well and the customer service was great. This will be my preferred location when I go.
4/27/24 went through the drive thru ordered #7 family meal .3 vehicles ahead, so was plenty of time to have food ready ,each had lengthy wait .When got to window ,payment was taken ,after a wait was asked to pull up in front of the door .6 Clients served still no food .Pulled back thru the drive thru ,waited lengthy time behind a vehicle that never ordered via the speaker only at the window .When I got to the window ,the same curly hair teen came back to the window ,along with 3 others looking like I just landed from another planet .I had tried to call the management team when I was line ,but she failed to come to the phone .One of the teen males at the window said it took so long as food had to be cooked .Even after requesting to see the manager ,no show to the window. When we got the food home, fries was stone cold ,bread soggy .The food was not freshly cooked at all .No forks in the bag and 3 napkins for a family meal ,no plates . That long of a wait all the food should have been fresh .At almost $37.00 there are better mannered places in Mechanicsville to go where you don't have to be treated rudely in toddler town ,and get at least hot food after a 30 plus min wait ..
Not asking for anything that isn't paid for .

Wasn't really impressed the first time I tried Zaxbys a few years ago. At the request of my child, I tried it again, and we loved it. Mainly because they use real chicken meat. Each visit we have been getting the chicken tenders and they are lightly breaded and extremely hot! They are not too greasy and are lightly seasoned. We especially like to order via app and pick up after church. The facility always appears clean and available; however, we do not eat there. Also receive good service. I've never waited for my food any longer here than elsewhere, and they appear to be staffed well and with the same crew each Sunday. Have been enjoying going and will return.
Went in to get wife a salad and myself some wings. Wife got the salad within 5 minutes. Wings did not come out after twenty five minutes. I got my money back for the wings and had to go to Publix to get my dinner. My wife's salad was hot after all the wait so we should have just asked for our money back on both. We should have been informed wings would take so long. Many other people that came after me got their food before I had to eventually give up.
This is very new, clean Zaxbys. But there are three things to note:
1. Fries seem to be consistently under seasoned and trend toward soggy.
2. The sweet tea is insanely sweet compared to other locations. Tread lightly.
3. The sink in the restroom is ridiculous. It barely dribbles. I don’t know how the employees are washing their hands.
*checked back again today. Sink still doesn’t work.
The chicken was very good at this location. Unfortunately the dining room is still closed due to covid so nothing to review in there. I have been to many Zaxby's locations around the east coast and was very happy with my experience there. Also the girls working inside the restaurant were all kind and beautiful.
My first time going to Zaxby's. Good atmosphere. The food was good and was ready pretty quick. Friendly staff. I would definitely go back. I want to try more of their menu.
