Nice corner restaurant! Very popular. Also quite noisy. We sat on the second floor with a view of snow-capped mountains. Fast, attentive (but not overly friendly) service. I had their "Tree Hugger Pizza" which was outstanding in every respect. My wife had their "Zax Burger" which was substantial and tasty. Wide selections of excellent beers on tap as well as the hard stuff. There are a few wines, one of which she ordered and recommends you stick to the beers and margaritas. Handicapped using wheelchairs will find easy access to the first floor only.
Be aware that your bill will include a suggested tip starting at 18% which (they do note) does include the 10% tax in their suggested tip calculation.
After a full day driving the White Rim trail, we were exhausted and we're looking forward to a hot dinner.
We knew just the place! One of our favorites when we are in town, we canned here tonight for pizza!
We ordered a 1/2 & 1/2: pesto sauce with pepperoni and artichoke AND regular sauce with ham & sausage. It arrived fast and hot!
Glad I asked for 'light' pesto! ????
It was very tasty, we also had a great waiter who was very attentive.
We ordered 2 Cadillac Margaritas - they did not disappoint. So much so, that I drank is before taking a picture. ????

Much better than one would estimate from the outside! Very clean and tidy, a great atmosphere. Rarely eaten so well. Jessica provided very good advice and service. It's a shame we only spent one night in Moab, I would have happily eaten there every day! Thanks so much!
Not a bad restaurant at all. Wife and I had pizzas, very tasty. Although the margaritas Zax, not so good. Work on that.
The seatting and view upstairs at corner was fun! Loud of course but to be expected.
Very happy to say they offer 15% on their military discount! Thumbs up on that one Zax!
We originally sat upstairs but there was no air circulation, no fan above us and it was brutally warm. We decided to sit inside on the first floor. Ehran was quick with his service but wish he came by a little more often for refills etc but he was a good guy and brought out a take home container before we even asked for one. Very good pizza and drinks.
Great atmosphere in a building with lots of history of many western films made here including John Wayne in Rio Grand. Food was great and moderately priced. I had a fantastic steak blackened with the works. The other entres like individual pizzas looked great. The server kept totally interrupting our conversations every time he came by. I recommend he pauses briefly like it is our time, not his that is paramount.
Zax is a Moab classic. The vibes are nice, and the food is great. It gets quite busy so an early lunch might be the move. The pizza is good and there’s a bunch of options for appetizers. Highly recommend Zax.
This place has amazing steak. Really. I admittedly am a steak snob to a certain extent and love a good ribeye. Zax delivered with a perfectly cooked black and blue. Our server ibo was ???? responsible for our excellent experience, checking on us constantly and taking our special requests. Delicious dinner roll baked potato and pesto veggies. My husband got the pizza and again excellent crust.
