Best WLM Reviews
I stopped by today for a light dinner after a golf game. I went without much expectations, but it was so delicious. In particular, the ordinary-looking spring rolls taste really fresh and healthy. It wasn't the spring roll you normally get at Vietnamese restaurants. We didn't take any pictures, but we finished it in admiration. The coconut soup was really healthy, but I think it would have been better if it had been a little warmer. Tom Cha Noodles came out a bit lumpy and it was a mess.
It's worth a visit when you need a quick meal in Monterey.
This is a cute little gem nestled in Monterey. Parking is a little rough , but if you're lucky, you will get street parking in the front , if not, there are parking garages nearby.
The staff is friendly and efficient. We started off with the appetizer shrimp dumpling, and it was sooo delicious. It came with a yummy lil sauce you dip the dumplings in. We highly recommend this appetizer. For our main lunch dishes,
My husband got the red curry, and I got the massamun beef. Our son had the chicken noodle soup .
Food was flavorful and just enough.
We definitely recommend to to by for a lunch or dinner If in town .
While my experience at Zab Zab Thai was mixed, there were definitely highlights worth mentioning. The Pad See Ew didn't quite hit the mark for me, lacking the depth of flavor I was expecting. However, where Zab Zab Thai truly shines is in their selection of curries. From the aromatic green curry to the rich and creamy red curry, each dish delivered a delightful burst of authentic Thai flavors. If you're a curry enthusiast, Zab Zab Thai is definitely worth a visit.
Come with my girl friends for dinner. Great restaurant with great food. Definitely will be back.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had. it was really nice just hit the spot. My only problem is the space seemed a little cramped inside. Other than that everything else is perfect
Maybe because my husband and I are from LA, which has an abundance of authentic and tasty Thai food, but we were underwhelmed by the flavor and service of Zab Zab, unfortunately.
It was a Thursday night on 12/28/23 at 6:45pm approximately that we arrived. We were seated almost an HOUR later and got to eat 15+ minutes after. It was soooooo busy and we thought we had come on a good day. We looked up this place on Reddit and it was recommended but maybe it's because most were local opinions? I'm assuming Monterey doesnt have a lot of Thai options.
We assume a waiter/waitress had called out on a shift because there were only 3 servers from what we could see for the whole place, servicing inside and outside.
What I really didn't like is that while we were waiting for our table, one waitress had us look at the menu and actually order before we even had a table. However, it turned out to be a blessing because our food took forever to come out after being seated and we heard other patrons complain about the wait as well - yikes!
After being so hungry and the food finally came out, we had a bite and looked at each other. The food was... mediocre. We both had ordered dishes from "the wok." It had no flavor or spice, in my opinion. The sauce could have stuck better to the vegetables and protein if they threw in a bit of a cornstarch slurry to thicken it up. I'm not a professional chef but having cooked many meals from around the world at home, I was disappointed. The wait times made it way worst but the servers were trying their very best against such a numerous crowd.
We probably will not be back but the ambience was nice. Tables could be physically smaller outside (i.e. square or rectangle instead of bulky, circular ones) to fit more parties but that's also just my opinion.
Such a lovely spot. The Thai Tea was absolutely amazing! The appetizers we had were so delicious. I wish I had gotten something else for my main though. The beef and broccoli wok was pretty standard… I was really expecting something super delicious because of the tea and appetizers. Still good though.
I ordered my food with a level 3 spicy thinking it was "white people" spicy but nah, they added the heat, and I loved it. The restaurant is small and very popular, as a result the service can be a bit slow, but its very much worth it because the food itself is full of flavor and is always served steaming hot.
