Ordered the Dulpan Bibimbab #15
I was given the smallest portion of beef I could possibly receive in a Korean dish. Casual $23 plate of vegetables and rice.
The workers forgot to bring mom's side dishes. When I tasted my foods, they were okay because they weren't too bad to eat. Although they lacked some taste and quality. They were just fine for me since I didn't feel like it.
We ordered yukgaejang and white noodle and the taste was not great. Either the ingredient is old or it's not fresh. It actually tasted "odd" it's dinner time but there is almost no one here.
Advice to owners: get rid of the "hello customer here" noise that activated in the front door. We sit on the back end and it kept making that noise when we got up to get food, tissue, leaving. It's quite annoying.
And put the trash can inside. I know the space is issue but every other place has trash can
This is a satellite outlet for the old time favorite nengmyeon joint on Olympic in Koreatown. Menu is similar to the original place. I think the original place is slightly better than this outlet, mainly due to higher turnover and more service staff. Good point about this outlet is that you don't have to pay tip since you pick up the food at the counter. The beef broth dispensed at the counter is quite good and it is free. Also they have a lunch special menu that also saves you a $1 per dish.
This place is tragic. Doesn’t do justice to the original location in Los Angeles. I ordered a regular mul naeng myun and the noodles were completely undercooked. Like rigid. The least you could do is cook it properly if you’re going to charge $20 for a bowl of noodles. The flavor was off too. No quality control. They gave me a refund, but the lady at the register was not apologetic at all.
Save your money and go elsewhere. They used to be good but they have increased prices and have reduced their portions on their Cold Noodles ( Neng Myun). The portion was so small I thought it was a mistake. The noodles were also warm and the egg tasted off. We left there so disappointed , we had to tell the person at the counter about our experience and they didn’t even care.
The cashier girl was very rude, and the food was totally overpriced and the portions got smaller. Few years back the portions were almost twice as big but now I finished all my cold noodles and walked out not full. I know there is shrinkflation going on but this is ridiculous. The owner need to increase the price or shrink the portions not both.
We order Ddukpokki (국물떡볶이) here.
But they used spoiled dduk (rice cake) for it.
I found it at the first bite, tasted very spoiled with unique sour smell.
So we told casher about it, she took our dish to the kitchen.
A bit later, another lady(short hair) from the kitchen came to us and said,
"it's not spoiled,
just your taste is no good wt this ddukpokki.
You should change to other order, not ddukpokki."
Omg... horrible attitude for food complain..
Her attitude was so rude, and never said sorry
Before I asked.
Even you eat spoild food from here,
Don't expect any nice reaction.
Just you should be sorry for having your taste not normal.
Horrible, arrogant customer service.
(But middle age of korean casher lady was nice)
