Everytime I go here, I'm happy when leaving. She's (the owner) tried different styles on my hair and I loved everything she did. Now I really trust her with hair styling. She's just really good at what she's doing! I usually go here for perm. I highly recommend Young!
I'm new to San Diego and spent a long time looking at different Yelp reviews for a stylist! I reached out to a few places and feel really lucky that I found Young! She has over 15 years of hair styling experience and already has tremendously good reviews from her time at Sunny Day People Hair Salon.
I didn't know what style I wanted going in but she gave really good advice after looking at the shape of my face and hearing sort of what I wanted. I felt very well pampered and cared for since she pays very close attention to detail to make sure your hair cut is awesome! I'm super glad I found Young and look forward to our next appointment!

Young is no less fabulous at her new salon, "Hair by Young" and I will continue to be a loyal customer. She cares for our whole family and has always treated us with a sweet sincerity and fantastic professionalism!
The cute salon offers plenty of easy parking outside and is fresh, bright, and very clean inside!

I got a perm here and it was amazing and the prices are reasonable and Young was super sweet and even offered my a snack and water. The place was very clean and I’ve never had a better haircut. I will definitely be coming back!
I love her! I called to book an appointment for the same day. I went in with boring hair and came out feeling like a woman again! She greeted me and escorted me to the chair. We did a haircut, shampoo/scalp massage, blow dry, check for extra cuts needed, and a style. She is meticulous and makes sure you look damn good. She worked on me for over an hour and honestly earned every cent of what she charged. I won’t go to anyone else again. Thank you so much! ❤️
It was my first time going to the hair salon in San Diego and I’m so glad that I found her. She was very professional and my hair came out wonderful. I love my new hair! Thank you so much.
Went here couple months ago to get a haircut and get rid of my highlights and get a new hair color. I showed her pictures of my hair and the color i wanted (pic on the left) and she said she can do it and quoted me $200 for the hair color and haircut. When i got to the salon she started cutting my hair and about to start the process of coloring it and she said my hair is thick and would cost me $250 i was disappointed at first but i still said ok because she’s in the middle of doing my hair already so I didn’t bring up my concern that what we agreed on text message was only $200. So fast forward everything is done haircut and hair color but to my surprise the color of my hair is literally so dark close to being black (photo on the right) and she told me that the color of my hair was bright bleach and it will get brighter after a while, so she said don’t worry and just wait and that’s what I actually did, WAIT! But nothing happened, worse is some of my highlights started showing up again. Omg it was a mess. I just spent $300 for nothing including $50 tip. Yes I still tip her that much for such a lousy job. So disappointed and the last time i asked her if my hair will turn to that color eventually and she said “it doesn’t just a little brighter” she could have been honest the first time that she can’t do that hair color instead of asking me to wait for nothing. I actually had a high expectations because she got 5 star reviews, and the haircut i like was korean inspired haircut so i looked for korean hairstylist but I was just really disappointed for wasting $300. And i was still debating if I should write a review but she never responded to me anymore nor offer a solution of redoing it. It really bothers me so here it is.
I love my haircut I got from Hair by Young this past weekend! I have long, thick hair and I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she did an amazing job. She was very thorough and meticulous. She was very sweet and really took her time, which I appreciate. I love my cut and will definitely be back! The shop was clean and nice, plus - bonus - there are some great places to grab lunch nearby afterwards :)
