10/10 recommend Young Family Automotive. I am from out of town and did not have a mechanic in San Diego. Chris has been a huge help to me with my car issues since moving here. He is very knowledgable, honest, and his pricing is very fair. It is tough to find a mechanic who possesses all of those qualities. He gets the work done very quickly as well. If you're looking for a quick fix by an honest guy then Young Family Automotive should be your first stop.
Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. He was willing to work within my budget and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. The work was done in a timely manner and Chris solved my smog issues when muliltiple other mechanics were unable to. I highly recommend Chris to anyone needing a highly efficient and honest mechanic.
Trustworthy, polite and honest mechanic. I needed an emergency repair on my 2007 Honda CRV. The alternator died. Chris did a great job! He communicated well and is very affordable. A+ all around.
I also want to add that when he finished the car, I wasn't able to pick it up because I was stuck at home with a baby while my wife had my other car. Since I didn't live far from his shop, he delivered the car personally! Great guy!

After many years of dealing with different mechanic shops and their nonsense, Young Family Automotive has stood out above the rest, without comparison. Found Chris on La Mesa Happenings Group. I was looking for someone to fix my A/C, he offered to check it out, we arranged a time and a day, dropped car off at the shop a couple of hours later, he was done. He kept me informed on what, when and how he was doing, he didn't push any extra work, just advised to get other things done in the future. No pressure. Definitely bringing my vehicle back for other services.
Update:
Not even a week later my ac was still not working (it worked for a day!) Aka Chris didn’t fix my ac! After great frustration, I took it back to him and he said the part was $70, and it would take 30 mins to replace it, and ordered the part. Then as we were attempting to schedule when I’d come in, he told me $200 to get it fixed!! After I spent $170 for an issue that wasn’t fixed, he was trying to charge me an additional $200!! Note that He said it would take 30 mins maximum to fix, also. I told him this wasn’t ok and I’d pay the $70 for the part but no more... which he finally agreed to.... but he was conveniently out of town the following weekend, then made excuses for a week as to why he couldn’t schedule me to come in to get that part replaced. Due to this unprofessionalism and dishonesty, I took my car to the dealership and they said the problem wasn’t the 2 things Chris said and suggested that he didn’t know what he was doing and was just going through trying to replace things in my engine and rack up the bill. Save your time and money and don’t allow Chris to do anything with your car....
Chris fixed my ac!! My car shop told me I was having a blower-type problem and said it would be a minimum of $500 to fix it... so I was dreading fixing it! My friend found Chris on FB when she asked for recommendations. He was professional, honest, and kept me up to date on my car throughout the day. The pricing was fair and he fixed it (need an ac flush and orings to be replaced). He had it done within a matter of half a day. I will definitely be coming back to him!!
Chris is a Very reliable mechanic, very knowledgeable and every problem I’ve had with my car he’s been able to fix it with an affordable price. I will continue to take my car to Chris for any future car needs.
Brought my car in Chris and his team were able to figure the problem pretty quick. Was pretty good pricing to for the quality of work. Definitely bringing my other cars if a problem comes.
