First time trying chicken and waffles for breakfast and I just absolutely loved it-
Yolk knows how to mesh together some well seasoned friend chicken and some crispy buttermilk mini waffles, with some warm maple syrup that makes it all come together perfectly. Portion sizes were generous, the staff were super friendly, and the prices were decent overall. The restaurant itself does feel a little dated, and not on the ‘classic Chicago’ kinda way. Overall, would recommend.
Walking into Yolk, you’re immediately enveloped in a warm, inviting vibe that only a top-notch breakfast spot can offer. The crepes and pancakes? Absolutely divine. They’re the kind you’d happily jump out of bed for on a lazy Sunday. ????And the omelets are a whole different level of yum - fluffy, packed with flavor, and just the right amount of filling. It’s clear why Yolk is a local favorite. Definitely worth a visit for a taste of their morning magic!
The food was great, it came quickly even though it was quite busy in there the servers weren't rushed and were able to keep up with the orders. As mentioned the food was great, but the atmosphere in there is also quite welcoming, you don't feel rushed to eat/pay/leave. If you're in the area it's a good place to stop for breakfast or brunch for sure.
Cute atmosphere upon walking in. Other than being greeted by door person and walked to table, we waited about 10 min before anyone came by and it was the runner bringing water. In total we waited about 15 min+ and no server ever came by so we vacated the table and went to the dining counter. After that things moved more quickly. Food was flavorful, nice portions. Pancakes were SUPER fluffy and light, really delicious!!!
I had the peppermint mocha coffee & red velvet toast single with eggs and turkey sausage. It was delicious, one of the best brunch spots I visited during my time in Chicago! Red velvet toast was gooey perfect if you have a sweet tooth!
Great food, location, and service. Just what we were looking for. Enjoyed the pancakes and avocado toast!
I have never eaten tasteless breakfast until I dined at Yolk. I can't explain why the food was tasteless except there was no seasoning used obviously. The beet orange juice was good and the potatoes did have a bit of salt... the rest was a waste.
This was my first ever brunch in the US (since I live in Europe) and was so so good. The place is so nice and it’s located very close to some famous sightseeing places like the “Bean”, so it’s perfect for a weekend brunch and strollz. ????
The food was also really good, especially the avocado toast and the pancakes. Loved the banana latte as well. The only thing I didn’t like were the potatoes and the omelette, cuz there is too much onion / garlic in them, but that’s my preferences. Overall can’t wait to visit this place again. ❤️
