My wife and I were curious about the Yee Dynasty since we moved to the area about a year ago. We decided to give it a shot for our anniversary dinner. We ordered over the phone for take out. The gentleman on the phone was very receptive and polite. My wife ordered the combination “K” and I ordered a large order of shrimp lo mein. When I got to the restaurant, I received the same polite treatment I did over the phone. That’s where the pleasantries ended. My wife’s order appeared extremely comparable to Alpo or a bad hamburger helper and tasted like the chef somehow forgot what salt or MSG were. Mine tasted very similar. Which was an absolute tragedy because the taste was potentially the only saving grace, due to the fact that my shrimp lo mein was specifically lacking in the actual “lo mein” department. Absolutely pitiful they take people’s hard earned money for this trash.
Great karaoke and good drink selection! They also have two pool tables and a lottery machine (Keno).
The oil used is either never changed or is extremely resued and old. All the good has that same nasty oil taste to it. Yeah, it might be great if you are drunk, but I wouldn't feed this food to a dog. I wanted to give them a second chance as I was here years ago and thought the food was good, but when I tried it recently, I thought maybe they were just having a bad day. The standard just isn't what it used to be, and how they cook one thing is how they cook everything. Which is bad.
Food is ok. Not the best but I’m a Boston native so maybe Chinese food is made different here. Didn’t like the sign however as it can be misconstrued as racist. Get the fixed asap
I went here for take out. The atmosphere on a Friday night is drunken Karaoke. It was pretty sketchy. Outside of the restaurant there were people who were sloppy drunk, leaning on cars in the lot, smoking cigarettes, and yelling at each other. One of them was leaning on my car. So, i wouldn't recommend going here for a date on a Friday night.
The food is really good though. I had my reservations about the quality of the food because of the scenario I was experiencing, but when I got it home and dug in, I was very pleased.
The man behind the counter was very nice. He offered extra duck sauce, and was attentive to my order, even though there was absolute drunken chaos around him. I give him high marks for keeping it all together. So, I would say it is a great place for take out, but I cannot speak to sit down on a regular day.
ok, so, on their website it says that there’s a buffet all day round. When I got there the buffet was closed and nothing was in it. When I asked the waiter if they did buffets they declined, I told them that their website said so though, was kinda bummed because I wanted to eat at a nice Chinese restaurant with some buffet food. So I order the orange chicken and lo mein platter with some fried rice and an egg roll. Was not having it with some parts of the food. The Orange chicken was good in my defense but other than that the rice was bland as heck, the egg roll somehow tasted really sweet, and the lo mein tasted watered down?? How do you water down lo mein?? I was pretty disappointed and dissatisfied with the food, the waiter was nice and understood the situation, and the bill was ok for all the food. No coming back.
I got take out. This place has never been my favorite but it's good, reasonable prices, close to home, and they're just my convenient spot. Beef fried rice and beef lo mein are fantastic, chicken fingers are good, general gau is good. I've never sat and dined there so I can't rate it but I know their delivery is usually fast and their lounge is very popular.
When I graduated from college in the 90's, some of my friends and family celebrated at the Yee Dynasty. The Yee was known for excellent food.
Before COVID-19, the Yee and 2 other comparably priced Chinese restaurants in Manchester offered an all you can eat buffet. The other 2 restaurants offered about 60-80 different items. The Yee offered only 20-30. I preferred the Yee buffet because the quality of the food was so much better.
The past few years, the food has changed. It is mostly ok, but I have been served some food that was definitely subpar, specifically Beef Mushroom Chow Yoke, Lobster Sauce, and yesterday the Pork Fried Rice. It had an odd taste. I may be wrong, but I suspect it was old. I will try the Yee again next year and see if the food quality has been restored.
