Best WLM Reviews
Unfortunately this place was very average. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated in a lower level with a view of the kitchen area. Someone stopped by our table to let us know that our server would be there shortly. Our server stopped by and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. Our water came right away. I then looked at my watch and it was 15 minutes before he came back and actually took our order. If the place had been busy, we would have understood. However, the place wasn’t busy at all and the server was laughing it up with other co-workers (strike 1). This was tapped as have a “Southern flare”. Having grown up in the South with parents that ran and owned a real Southern restaurant for 25 years as well as owning two restaurants myself for over 15 years in major cities, I was skeptical. The lobster Mac and cheese that we ordered had little to no seasoning at all and the amount of actual lobster was negligible. Additionally, it was runny. They clearly have no idea what they are doing and really don’t know what Southern Mac and cheese tastes like. Someone please help them! The fried chicken was supposed to be hot honey but there was very little hot or honey about it. It was fried well but just like the rest of the food, it was poorly seasoned (if at all). The deviled were a huge gamble but my wife indicated that they were actually not bad. I had a blackberry bourbon drink which was good but was 1 oz of bourbon away from being excellent. We took our food “to go” but had to ask for bags which should have been obvious. The restaurant experience should be one that leaves the customer wanting more and give them something to talk about (in a positive way).
The food at Yardbird was delicious, especially the skillet cornbread—it was finger-licking good. The fried chicken and collard greens were also very tasty. I wasn't a fan of the lobster mac, but overall, the experience was great. The staff was attentive . I left satisfied and full. I will definitely try Yardbird again!
Our first time visiting this establishment with friends. First, there is no really good parking on the street, so we opted to park in the garage at $14/hr.
Upon entry, we were greeted immediately. The hostess greeted us with a warm smile and an abundance of energy. The waiting area was fairly small, so we felt slightly claustrophobic waiting for someone to guide us to our table. Our wait was about 10 minutes before we were seated.
It was very busy inside the restaurant. About 10 minutes after being seated, our waitress took our drink and appetizers orders. The restaurant was out of deviled eggs, so we decided on vegetables and hummus plates, as well as biscuits and jam for the table. I'm gluten-free, so I didn't partake of either appetizers, but the remainder of the table did and said it was very good. The only complaint was that the krackers on the hummus plate were dry. Our drinks were backed up at the bar for well over 30 minutes.
For sake of sparing you an even longer review, I'll report on the two entrees hubby, and I had at dinner. Hubby ordered the chicken and waffles with plain waffles. I ordered the gluten-free spare ribs with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Hubby's chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Seasoned well. But the hot sauce really brought out its flavor. He said the chicken was much better with the hot sauce. Yet, the waffles he said tasted better on their own without the syrup. He said the syrup had an odd taste to it, not robust with a mild sweetness like a maple syrup normally taste.
My GF spareribs were mildly seasoned. It was tender, and the potatoes and vegetables complimented it well. However, as a Southern transplant, I didn't feel it captured the flavors I grew up eating or could cook at home.
Our waitress was very sweet and kind. She provided a great service, and she was well-versed on the menu, it's options and guidance on selections.
I wasn't really impressed with the food. It was edible, but not as flavorful as I'd hoped.
Finally got a chance to check out this spot for Sunday Brunch. I love the cozy interior and decor of the restaurant and it's very spacious.
We ordered the cinnamon rolls to start which were delicious and decadent!
I got the chicken and egg sandwich and my friend got the chicken and gravy with egg sandwich.
Both sandwiches were quite tasty and a good portion.
Price wise..it's a bit expensive..our bill came out to be about $100 bucks with no alcohol (I had tea and my friend had the hot apple cider)
18% gratuity is included so be mindful of that.
Good visit overall and service was very attentive.
Very spacious restaurant with a huge bar. The servers were friendly and prompt. The dish I ordered was standard. The skillet cornbread is really good. Ask for your fried chicken to be prepared gluten-free if you don’t eat pork.
Great for a lunch to escape Convention Center Aramark’s services. Our waitress was phenomenal, responsive, fast, and very kind. food tasted as expected, special mention to the French fries were super crispy without being burnt (a bit on the super salted style though.) The bar looks phenomenal and will be a destination during my next visit to the Convention center.
The green goddess salad was superb! There were plenty of gluten-free options on the menu. The service was fast. The location is convenient, and the ambiance is perfect to get together with friends to have a meal and chat.
Celebrated my 44th birthday here. ???? as always good food. My favorite is the gluten-free fried chicken. Listen gone head an also order the Angel eggs as I call them. I don't want nothing devil calling on my plate. Ijs ???????? since it was my special day, I treated myself to banana chesse cake. Gluten-free delicious ???? I wanted 2 pieces. I didn't need a second. The first piece is enough for 2 people! Many blessings and enjoy ????
