I hear good things about the food here at Yardbird. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT and the short ribs. The fried green tomato BLT tasted absolutely delicious, although it didn't have a lot of flavor, I thought everything on it balance itself out for a good starter. The short rib, however, I was disappointed in. I was more disappointed in the sauce just because I didn't think the sauce complimented the short rib well enough. The cocktail, nonetheless was good.
I would give Yardbird a 3 star rating, but our server was fantastic, courteous, and friendly. He offered us suggestions, his favorites, and made our dining experience wonderful, hence why I give Yardbird a 4 star rating instead.
Yardbird Table & Bar in Chicago, Illinois exceeded all expectations! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting and lively. Chad, our server, provided top-notch service with a friendly attitude and very attentive to all goods tables. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The attention to detail and presentation were remarkable. The gluten free chicken and waffles were delicious, they do take longer to make than regular chicken and waffles but they are sure worth the wait. Overall, Yardbird Table & Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Chicago. Can't wait to come back! Thank you Chad for serving us very well done.
Boisterous establishment with southern American dishes with some fun twists. Chicken being center-stage to their menu, the chicken and waffles were quite good. I’ve never had a waffle that soft and fluffy, despite being laced with cheese. The chicken was good, though I prefer boneless fried chicken over the mostly dark meat bone-in pieces.
The apple cobbler, which comes with quite the prep time, was absolutely spectacular dessert, both visually and in terms of flavor - the many layers were delicious, though I would’ve been totally fine without the bottom layer of cake.
I visited Vegas a couple of years ago but was unable to experience Yardbird with a group reserving the entire space, so I was excited when one came to Chicago. The food was amazing. The cocktails were decent. The service was great. Many beautiful finishes throughout, but the one thing that hit me when I entered the establishment was how fn loud it was. Goodness! I couldn't have a conversation without my spouse without leaning over the table to hear him or without yelling back and forth. And the tables were close together, so the group of 12 to my right and table of (2) behind us were within a foot of us and our food.
Maybe it's not as loud in the day. Perhaps I'll try again.
Esthetically, the restaurant is elegant, large, and did boast a second floor. I attended with a party of 11, and we were seated promptly. The fact that the restaurant is called Yard Bird, you know that the chicken would be flavorful. The yard bird appetizer wings were magnifique!! The CHICKEN AND WAFFLES were also a MUST TRY. I originally wanted the 1/2 rotisserie, but they were out. I was so disappointed!! You're a chicken restaurant.????????♀️ So I had the salmon. Don't waste your time ordering that. However, go for the chicken and waffles, the braised short rib, or the ribs. Talk about a party in your mouth. The keylime cheesecake was also a favorite at our table. You won't go wrong ordering the chicken. STAY AWAY from the lobster mac n cheese!! You pay MP (Market Price), so the dish was $75. It looks pretty but not worth the money. It was lacking in flavor.
My first time trying smoked watermelon, it was interesting. THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! LUIS WAS SUPERB! The atmosphere was very sensual and comfortable. The food was not so good! We were anxious to try the Nashville Hot chicken that they were serving for restaurant week. It was horrible. Too salty! they replaced it with fried chicken and that was unseasoned and wasn't crispy at all. The appetizers were basic. The deviled eggs looked cute but were dry and bland. I ordered a cosmo drink.... not again! I did not enjoy the experience at all.
My dinner at the restaurant was a delightful experience from start to finish. The Old Fashioned cocktails were superb, the chicken and waffles divine. The service struck the perfect balance - my server was attentive without being overbearing. The manager kept a watchful eye on operations, guaranteeing impeccable food and attentive staff. I'll definitely be back for more!
We had the absolute best experience here and would recommend this to anyone! It was my husband's 40th birthday and they treated him like absolute VIP. We were blown away. The staff was incredible. The food was delicious. The space is gorgeous. We had so much fun and it'll be a night to remember for years to come!
