OMG!! I love being in the south. This place is awesome ????. Real southern hospitality at its best. From the moment u walk in, it's like ur at your Alabama grandma's house. The menu is exactly what u expect it to be to include okra, pinto beans, and fried bologna. The service staff is phenomenal. Sweet as honey pie and friendly as an iced tea on ur neighbor's porch. Pricing is ridiculous. For breakfast with four people, the cost was under $40. If u r in the Tuscaloosa area, make it a point to stop in and say "hey" ur gonna feel right at home.
If you're looking for a meat and three or breakfast, or just about anything else at a decent price -look no further. I've been coming here more often since I live on that side of town. It's always very busy, you can usually find a seat that's been cleared off. But, last couple of times I've visited, the tables were dirty . And, then I waited for someone to offer me a menu. Waitresses never came by with one. So, I got myself one. No big deal. After I Finally place an order, lady brinks drinks to our table. I specifically asked for water with lemon. She said they only have lemon juice, okay cool. Never brought it. I had to repeatedly ask. The waitress(es) are clearly stressed. The looks on their faces say it all. Maybe more help?? My food overall was decent. My food wasn't very hot at all . And, maybe seasoned a little more.
Love to take my Grandmother here for chicken livers on Friday! The food is great and amazing staff ! Highly recommend if you love southern cooking , and even if you don't! ????
I call ahead and it's ready when I get there. I don't have any complaints. The food is delicious with ample portions. The staff are polite and helpful. It is a stress free experience.
The breakfast was so delicious and freshly cooked. I can’t wait to return! The staff was super friendly and very accommodating! Definitely a place to try if you’re in town
Since I've moved to town, I've been coming to Wright's at least a couple times a week, even was on first name basis. Unfortunately, I'll no longer be able to come around the corner for a quick breakfast because I had to learn that my patronage didn't outweigh the ego of the cook/owner. Something as simple as refiring an omelette was too much to ask and I was even charged for the omelette that I didn't eat. I asked for a vegetable omelette and I got soggy tomatoes and crunchy raw onions in it. The refusal and then the charge felt like a slap to my face and as a cook myself, I'd never want to put food out that was subpar. It was a pleasure meeting the ladies up front, but to be fully honest, the food preparation often leaves much to be desired. I often bit my tongue about things that could've been easily improved but I just learned it's best to order what you know will be done correctly. This morning i made the mistake of branching out. Now I no longer have a neighborhood breakfast spot. Again, I understand that my business means nothing. It's just sad that it was such a small thing to fix. Caramelize your onions earlier so that you don't have to serve them nearly raw in people's omelettes.
Great place to eat. The service is as good as the food. Kind and friendly atmosphere. I assume by the business of the restaurant, this is where the local eat. And I can see why. Great job Wright team!
The service was amazing everyone was very tentative and the food was great. The fish was best I have had in a long time. The prices were as good as the food. We will be back when traveling down this way again. Well worth the drive off the interstate .. Don't pass this place up.
