We ordered Mando, Bulgogi and Bi Bim Bap . Bulgogi good portion of meat for $24 and tasted good had carrots and mushrooms , not fatty, the Bi Bim bap , smallest portion of meat of all the places we have been to, added meat from wife’s plate. Veggies were fresh and I liked taste, she said the sesame taste was to strong. Mando appetizer was good , fresh and hot . They set out the usual side dishes that were good $60 before tip. Men’s bathroom was clean
This is THE best Korean BBQ in Chicago. Prepare yourself for exquisitely tender and deliciously marinated galbi infused with impossible to imitate smoke flavor from grilling over charcoal. The banchan are super fresh. We will be making the drive up from the city because you just can’t find quality like this there. Our waitress was excellent and friendly, often checking in on us if we needed refills on our banchan and swapping out our grill.
The biggest advantage of this place is the charcoal grill. However, you'll experience the magic of somewhat pricey, lower-quality cuts of meat separated from the ribs, which might make you feel like the charcoal is being wasted. If you're a foreigner of Korean cuisine wanting to experience charcoal grilling, I recommend trying it just once. I want to emphasize the fact that this isn't exactly representative of Korean bbq
Went for galbi and was not disappointed! Woo Chon is on the more expensive side but it tasted great! Ordered two servings for two, and it was a good amount for us - since we had also ordered cold noodles and bibimbap. It didn't seem too busy when we arrived so service was quick! Will definitely visit this place again!
One of the few places left in the city that uses charcoal instead of gas for Korean BBQ. Great cuts of meat, nice array of side dishes, and great service. It is located just off the intersection of Lincoln Avenue & California Avenue and, given its small size, you could blink and miss it. But if you manage to find it, the place is absolutely worthwhile.
We enjoyed our meal there but I have to say it’s quite expensive especially if you are meat lovers. I’m giving four stars only because it’s too expensive. We liked every dish we have. The Galbi is our favorite. The meat quality is one of the best we have had in Chicago. It’s really juicy and tender. The bibimbap and tofu soup are also really good.
My best, all-time favorite and go-to Korean BBQ ever throughout many years!! Could never express how much I love the food and the service here. Up until now, no place can match the marinated galbi they have here, as long as their kimchi soup. Highly recommended!!
Pretty pricey but I think it’s worth it. Food and service are good. Peaceful environment
