The old steel bridge nicknamed "Witches Bridge" was constructed in 1916 and stands on a one-lane public road, creating a rustic and nostalgic ambiance. I rode my bike by here one morning, it was foggy, and I saw unexplainable swirls in the mist as if dancing across the bridge. Probably from the slight breezes from the trees surrounding the creek; however, there is local lore. Its proximity to two cemeteries nearly 100 yards away, the old Durbin to the West and the newer Anderson to the East, which further adds to its mystique. It is said that once every few years, the spirits of the relatives between the two cemeteries meet by the creek for a family reunion. Still determining if it is true; however, the idea is a fascinating local legend.
It's actually private property and was informed so by a police officer. It was just an old bridge. No trails, no explanation as to why it's called the witches bridge.
Really cool place and really creepy at night! Try turning all lights off and car off with the windows down at night time. Very very creepy
