This DFAC is fantastic. The Troops that manage this facility are very professional and also have a great reputation for greeting everyone with a smile. One thing that I enjoy is their specialty bars - offering something new every now and then is really great for drawing in new customers. I've been to many DFAC's around the world and have to say that the Wings of Lightning is one of my top 3 favorites, followed by Fort Carson (Wolf) and 2/17 Cav's DFAC on Fort Campbell.
1. One of private (E2) food servers ‘s customer service is a disaster but others are cool. No greeting, smiling or even say anything when I said Thank you to him. When I asked more scrambled eggs by the time they were closing, the NCO was very supportive and helped me find it but the private just rudely said they are closed. The eggs were just right in front of him And NCO walked over got the eggs for me. When my wife asked chicken legs, he only picked the old and hard ones from the edge, still, no conversation, no facial expressions. If this is my soldier, I would found something else for him to do instead of the customer service, it is not professional .
2. My toddler got charged as an adult, we normally go to Schofield and he never been charged there.
3. Food is not very appetizing compared to Schofield’s one.
This is the best dfac I have been to in the Army. Always clean, never really much of a line. Parking is a little tricky sometimes. Best part for sure.... The food! Come for the soul food on Thursday, best catfish and greens on the island!
Phenomenal DFAC, great brunch on Sat. I Really enjoy dining here whenever I can. They run a great section.
This is an example of wasted BAS. They give the smallest servings possible. And one choice of meat. A fully grown man will literally be given 1 piece of chicken as dinner.
Whoever runs this dfac needs to be checked, because they don’t know what they’re doing.
I didn't eat here, I just sat with my teammates. But the food really didn't look very appetizing and the atmosphere felt more like being in an elementary school cafeteria. Maybe next time I'll eat, depending on what's for lunch.
The Dfac has some good food if you are a meal card holder. On the weekends and sometimes Fridays they close but have a set time schedule for the whole month.
One of the best DFAC in Wheeler/Schofield, they have a schedule posted right outside their door for the soldiers to be aware of what DFAC is open and the times for their own facility, sometimes they’re even open on weekends in the morning!
