This place was recommended by a lady at our RV park. Never would have known about it otherwise. Amazing date shake and wonderful tacos with fresh, crisp shells. Beautiful little sitting area in the back. Don't hesitate to stop by for lunch if you are in the area.
Best date shake ever! Freshly made and you can taste real date! They also have tacos, sandwiches and ice cream too. The price is really reasonable and everything is made fresh on the spot. The staff is super kind you get that homey neighborhood store vibe . They also have a little eating area in the backyard of the store for you to eat and relax. A true hidden gem in the Palm Springs area and I always come here when I pass by.
Omgoodness. What a great find...this is a little hidden gem! Date shake was delicious (sweet but great) & the sandwich was amazing! Meatloaf was the special of the day & smelled divine...wish I had room for both! Lol.
Cute back patio is a little glimpse of peaceful paradise.
The date shakes here are so GOOD. Depending on your tolerance for sugar, one shake could easily be shared between two or even three people. The vanilla ice cream and blended date mix was so insanely sweet and rich. Must try.
What an awesome place. The date shake was out of this world - you can taste the real dates, I ordered a small and should have ordered the largest size possible! They also had tacos, sandwiches, quesadillas, etc. I tried a chicken and ground beef taco and both were great. There is this an eclectic, comfy patio out back to enjoy your food, and they also sell convenience items and arguably the best beef jerky ever. We stayed at Joshua Tree and it was worth the drive 100%. I cannot wait to come back!
Come here for the date shake!!! Stay for the vibes ???? we didn’t have a taco but regretted it later after seeing others eat them. The shakes were fantastic, not too sweet. The people working there were super nice, we got several pounds of fresh dates to go. We will definitely be back!! Stop to check out the incredible wing mills on your way out of north Palm Springs.
Took the family here on a road trip and enjoyed most of the food. I think I had high expectations of the date shakes bc of other reviews, but was pretty disappointed. It's just vanilla ice cream, milk and dates. I didn't feel there was anything super special about it.
The turkey sandwich was yummy. The quesadilla had a lot of ground beef on it, which my 5 yr old didn't expect lol.
We loved the backyard seating and ambiance. Overall an ok experience especially with the prices being a little steep for feeding a family of 6.
This is an old school, small town grocery store.
It is located by the huge windmills and across the street from a trailer park. The surroundings could hardly be worse in the valley. My wife and daughter did not want to get out of the car.
There is almost no parking.
Inside, the ambiance is functional but not inviting.
For those who are brave enough to go inside, the staff is pleasant, easy to talk with and very helpful.
Their date shakes are easily the best around and it isn’t even close. Yum!!
If you want a high quality date shake and don’t mind a bit of a drive to a less than wonderful part of town, you definitely want to go to the Windmill Market.
