It doesn’t get much better than this for a classic diner breakfast. The location is small and extremely busy, for good reason, so try to get here early. We got here around 7 am on a Sunday, and were able to get a seat right away. But when we were leaving there was a line out the door.
The food here hits all the right marks for diner breakfast. I got the country fried steak and eggs, and everything was exceptional. Steak was cooked perfectly and the hash browns were extremely crispy. My wife got the corned beef hash, which was also excellent. We shared the cinnamon roll, which was massive. With how big the portion sizes are here, you’re bound to leave full. And to top it all off the prices are so cheap! All of this cost us around $30, which is unheard of for eating out anywhere near the Twin Cities.
GREAT place! It was very clean. The staff were friendly & attentive. From the time my order was taken, to when it came to the table was FAST. The Cooks did a GREAT job! Food was VERY GOOD. I recommend this place to any & ALL looking for an awesome breakfast and or lunch! I had a breakfast there. I SHALL return!
The Windmill Cafe has delicious, hot, and fast breakfasts! Also, their menu items are a great value and they have attentive staff and a friendly owner, too!
My husband and I returned to the Windmill Cafe for their special walleye breakfast. It was amazing; totally yummy! They offer their walleye breakfast and lunch special only once a month on the second Friday.

Brought my Girlfriend here for the 1st time! She was hesitant at first but with the always amazing staff incredibly hot food she is sold! The fresh homemade cinnamon rolls are out of this world! A great shareable! Thank Windmill! I’m so glad to be back! Can’t wait to come back soon!
I haven’t been here for a while. But, I’m here to say…it’s still FANTASTIC! I sat at the breakfast bar and was promptly greeted. I had coffee in front of me in less than 30 seconds! Looked at the menu, ordered the traditional 2 eggs, sausage patties, hashbrowns and toast! My food came out quick, hot and delicious! I highly recommend the Windmill Cafe.
