Excellent neighborhood gem! Never a miss from the wait staff or kitchen and budget friendly. You have the choice of dining in the quiet side or the bar area with that cheers atmosphere. Pic is of my fantastic lasagna.
Willows is a locally owned family restaurant that specializes in Italian food and pizza. We eat there a few times a year and also get takeout. They have entertainment a few nights a week in the dining room. You need to make reservations on those nights.
That was the case last night when we decided to go there for dinner. We were seated in the bar, which has a few booths and a number of high top tables, in addition to bar seating. We were seated at a high top. The chairs had a bar to rest your feet, so it wasn't uncomfortable.
We started with drinks. My husband just got a soda. I cannot drink right now, but I asked if they could make their drink special - coconut margarita - alcohol free. The bartender did and it was delicious.
My husband ordered the cup of chowder with half an eggplant sandwich. He thought the chowder had a slight vinegar taste to it; I had a small taste and didn't taste anything like that. He said his sandwich was delicious.
I ordered the lasagna. It was excellent. Just the right amount of spice and a fair amount of meat and sausage in the sauce. It came with a small loaf of bread. Needless to say, I have today's lunch! Good value at $12.99, if memory serves.
And what is dinner out without dessert? The hubby got the turtle cheesecake; I ordered the lemon cream cake. Both were very good and very reasonably priced at $4.99 each.

Returning to Maine after many years away and wanted to go back to Willows since we always enjoyed their pizza. Pizza still very good. Not the cozy atmosphere we remember cause theyve expanded! But still a great local pizza place with crispy, flavorful crust and good selection of toppings. Good local beer selection as well. Service was a bit slow, but they were quite busy just before Christmas.
The service is very slow. It literally took 20 minutes for someone to take our food order this place was not busy enough to wait that long and the Long Island Iced Tea I had did not taste like one at all.
*UPDATE*
I'm one to give places more then a second chance honestly....but the bartender I had today 12-3-2022 was nit friendly at all!!!!! No smile no enthusiasm no nothing don't get me wrong the food is amazing bit the customer service could use some work....asked for a cold sandwich got ot toasted with no mustard even though I asked for mustard I'll never come back

I gave this place one last try on 27th of January I kid you not it literally took 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge we were done before we got boxes didn't ask for a toasted sandwich even though i got a toasted sandwich......truly never going to this place again

On the way to Willow’s tonight I was telling My Son how amazing the pizza I had from Willows a couple weeks ago was. I just could not stop bragging about this amazing pizza that I had gotten from Willows. And then I got home to see this disaster of a pizza! I cannot say that I’ll probably be back to Willows ever again and I recommend you don’t either.
Got some wings to go last night…are kidding me lol!!! The size of an IPhone Watch, really!!!! These wings were all bread, skin and no chicken! $14.99 for 12, talk about feeling like you got robbed!
My pizza was alright but nothing extraordinary, the salad was kinda small. The place is clean, prompt service, professional staff.
