Just a basic Dart rail station...nothing fancy....I feel safe at this location and it's kept pretty clean and for that I'm grateful.
Westmoreland Station definitely needs some maintenance. The restroom on site was not in the best condition and was dirty. DART provides a pretty convenient service overall, but this station could use some attention.
Give GoLink a major yet overdue GoUpdate so that it Links the buses, trains ect
I frequently use this location to travel back and forth from work. There are trains that are at this same situation, they take you locally and regionally along with the buses. I do think that the drivers need to be more knowledgeable about where they are going. Half of them do not have a clue where streets are, nearest bus stations or anything relevant to routes. I understand it is not their responsibility but take in consideration of new riders who need assistance.
Everyday I pick up my husband at this station. Around 2:45-3:30 pm. There is always 9 or more cars parked in the Passenger load and unload only the cars are empty. Is this where employees are supposed to Park? How do you know if all employees are parked there or customers? It is almost impossible to pick someone up, employees there Do nothing, walk out and smoke once in a while. Very frustrating.
It being the end of the Red Line, for some reasons buses are late at times at this location, and hearing bus drivers giving bad directions for this area is a shame if their job is driving these streets..
The station is pretty good place. It's easy to tell where to go, where the busses will be at, it's relatively safe, and there's restrooms. Busses usually stop for a while if they are ahead of schedule there since it's a "major stop" as one bus driver put it, so it's a pretty good spot to get on your bus over the small bus stops around the neighborhood, that and safer in my opinion. Also, if you are worried about what times your bus will arrive or leave, at every bus stop there is a small box on the sign (or the in the sign, I don't know but you'll see what I mean when you get there) there will be that bus's schedule for the day from weekends and weekdays.
As for the light rail, it's pretty straight forward you just wait for your train and get on. The only thing worth mentioning is that there isn't those fancy signs that downtown has that says at what time the train will arrive. I know they used to have them but I don't know why they took them down.
Last thing to cover is the restrooms. Ok to be honest I just meantioning the restrooms because for the longest time I didn't know this station had them and would have liked for me to have read it some where so I might as well do so for someone here. At the end of the station there is a small building, that building has restrooms. They aren't the best (or the best smelling) but they are damn useful if you need to take a leak and are still 30 minutes from you bus ride.
Very clean platform... I'm not sure about other trains lines. This redline get cleaned at Westmoreland which happens to be the last stop.
